It's background character "Chipmunk" from Daria as the Marvel Comics character Squirrel Girl!This image is done in the spirit of the Daria end credit sequence.
"Chipmunk" is a student at Lawndale High with Daria and Jane. You can see her in the background at school often, most notably in "See Jane Run" where she is on the track team with Jane, and also the episode "Monster" where she has her one and only line of dialogue: "I thought I was the only one ashamed of my pores!"
Squirrel Girl is a super heroine in Marvel Comic Books. She started as a one-off character in a story for Iron man, but got brought back to be on the Great Lakes Avengers. She talks to squirrels like Aquaman talks to fish. And like Aquaman, you should not underestimate her because she has defeated Doctor Doom and Thanos. The really real Thanos. He wasn't a robot, clone, or simulacrum or anything. She has recently been given her own book "The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl."
So, yeah, here we have a Daria character affectionately referred to as "Chipmunk" and a super hero with squirrel based abilities, so... no brainer there.
