Description
Day 1: Space on this little island has run out, time has come to seek for new worlds. Our crew is highly motivated to found new colonies. This morning, at sunrise, we left our familiar harbor to find what has been lying behind the horizon. We should be able to travel for at least one year until we encounter shortages...--

edit (03/23/09): As you may see, I altered it a little. This includes the grass-sand-transition as well as the morning-fog-atmosphere. Looks much better now, I think

edit #234123 (30 Aug 2009): Fixed up a whole lot of things. Initially, I just wanted to change the clouds to make them appear a little more realistic and not that flat but since the image with changed clouds only looked like crap, I decided to re-render the whole scene. Additionally, I worked on the water a little, the lighting in general and all that kind of stuff. Enjoy

That is so cool! Love the fantasy sorta world it creates. The only thing is maybe add some reflection of the house since it seems close to the tree and the tree has a reflection? But it's awesome!

Actually, even though it seems like it's "wrong", the lighting is physically accurate. Since the sun is coming from the front, the lit areas of the house are turned away from the viewer. However, as the tree-trunk is round, you're able to see angles that this house with its straight edges does not possess.
