Description
A little gift to of her character Sardiryx. c:I'm not quite finished with this yet, it still requires some finishing touches here and there which I will tend to later and repost again.
Tools: Photoshop CS4, started drawing with a tablet and finished mos of it with my mouse.

This is absolutely amazing. Simply put. I can't quite describe it, the atmosphere of the piece really hits home, you know? It reminds me of Sardi flying over the first stretch of her island home of Crescent Isle.
And that SUNSET. The GOLD. That FIERY GOLD. I can almost feel it, so warm. <3 The beach and foliage down below complete it, gah, so gorgeous.
You captured Sardi's flying pose -perfectly-. Her head is arched inward like a heron in flight, tail whisked to the side aiding in a banking turn. The way her legs are slightly outward gives me the sense that she's found a wonderful thermal and is gliding along contentedly, the best feeling in the world if you've ever gone parasailing or hang gliding (hell, even kitesurfing if the wind is strong enough). <3 I love how you've also tilted the angle for that moment of suspense and tiny bit of tension, it really adds a touch of reality as though you're right along side her or behind her riding the thermal yourself. LOVE IT.
Ahem. THAT BLUE. EEEEE. Gah, the colors are spot on, and you included her wing markings!! I was so afraid they were too hard to see on the ref. Geez. Love this to bits, thank you so VERY much for surprising me. Just. Man. Thank you so much!!

Do you think you'll draw a map view of Crescent Isle?
I still want to go parasailing myself oneday just to get the feeling of gliding. I've seen people many times parasailing and hang gliding on the dunes of Swakopmund and Long-beach next to the coast, and kitesurfing at the lagoon at Walfishbaai (Namibia). There's always wind throughout the day. <3 I take it that you've allready done these activities yourself?

I've been playing with the thought of creating a map of Aeris (the planet Sardi resides upon) goodness knows I need one for personal reference! I have no idea when I'd be able to do so, though.
And yes, there's nothing quite like parasailing and the other activities!

I agree. How about bungee jumping and sky diving? I'ts just funny though, I don't Know if it's worldwide but in Swakopmund, the Swakopmund Skydiving club has this tradition if a person goes skydiving for his 100th time, hill have to skydive naked, as in "but naked" (but still having is parachute of course).

I've not done either of those activities, though I was scheduled to go sky diving this past summer for my birthday -- the weather made those plans fall through. :C

You might get another chance for your next birthday which is only a few months away from now. Who knows?
I missed my chance as well once, to go bungee jumping at Victoria Falls nearly 2 years ago. :C I was there at the big falls, but our time there was to short. :/
