Overview of Class: Teaching her students the intricacies of spirit and all it encompasses -- from soul touching to spirit summoning, fortunetelling to astral projection, and how to read not only the stars, but the spirit and energy in all things. And, of course, everything to do with the essence of life itself.
Teaching Style: None of this rumored trial by fire she's heard about. Cultivating an atmosphere of acceptance but also of a learning zone, Rika is warm but strict with her students. Though she may worry over some like a mother hen, her grading is harsh and she won't tolerate those who seek to be lazy in their studies. Most core classes are hands on, and closely watched over to avoid dangerous situations... like, you know, death.
Grading Scale: Similar to the other teachers; a certain amount of effort must be provided to get a high score. Sketches will get mediocre scores, drabbles will also be on the low side unless the English is impeccable. Content is just as important too, and depending on how assignment is presented, one might get a higher score or more EXP.

She can be stubborn when she wants to end a conversation or interaction for any sort of reason and doesn't like having boundaries or lines crossed excessively (and prefers they aren't crossed at all). If you have the determination to succeed, she will do what she can, pick someone up when they fall, dust them off and send them on their way again.

When it comes to the department and the disarray she's heard it's fallen into... a feeling of disbelief and a bit of distress overwhelms her. However like she encourages in others, obstacles will be tackled with determination, tenacity, and maybe a little bit of TLC -- though not as much as her predecessor. She's going to get a graduating student that she can be proud of, or damn she'll keel over trying. That being said, she attempts to keep a professional air between herself and her students/colleagues, but in a school as social as this, it's a moot point isn't it?

Though Rika is young, she has witnessed the brutal genocide of an entire city of people, been touched with science magic to the point death was not even a release for her, and watched an entire world fall apart around her. In this time she joined up with a ragtag team of young adults in an attempt to flee that which destroyed all in its path... watched each of them die one by one, and in the eventual aftermath of everything, found herself alone and separated from the few survivors.

OW Itself:
She heard rumors that one of her friends might have been briefly in Otherworlde, and though she's a few years behind that friend, she still ventured onto the frigid campus. It seemed to be the end of a term, the buzz of a dance in the air, and in her explorations she came across a young professor of the campus -- the Necromancy professor, Raxathiel. While speaking with him, she came to find out how the "sister" department of Astral Studies had a lackluster turnout of students, and also got one of them killed in previous terms. Taking in the appearance of the dusty building in person, Rika began to feel that she'd been brought here for a reason beyond rumors....

Misc. Information:
The world she comes from is full of more machines than greenery, making her utterly fascinated with nature.
Absolutely loves cinnamon spice hot cocoa.
On top of her general sensing abilities, Rika wears stud earrings that glow blue when around docile spirits, and red when around malevolent spirits (think like Fatal Frame).
