I usually need a picture of a waterscape for to guide me on the perspective & the overall initial sketch. For example, for this one above, I used this picture:
But sometimes I make my painting with no picture, as for this one , I just painted directly on the paper without any sketch or preconceived plan. Perhaps it is why it looks so misty.
