Makoto Shinkai is the director, he's one sad, !@#$%, well at least his plots are. He's supposedly the next Hayao Miyazaki, anywho, wow, so jealous of your painting skills! I gotta reeve up mine!

Yeahhh that one, but the actual spelling is Ponyo on a cliff. I just watched the trailers for the Japanese version, I'm freakishly excited! It's one of the only movies he's fully traditionally animated since Tonari no Totoro! I hope to whomever that Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas do good voice acting jobs as the main charas.

I saw it! It reminded me of My Neighbor Totoro. It was very cute, but it confused me. I'm thinking because some of the plot was based on Japanese folklore/animism. ^^ Still loved it.

Some things are lost in the translation, like the ending of spirited away. The japanese and english endings imply different things.

I know! That killed me! In english, he said, "Sure we will" when Chihiro asked if they were going to meet again. It wasn't nearly as up-beat in the Japanese version. -_-

Urmm...I think there was also something else eh he...*laughs nervously* you may have figured it out already but if you haven't I can tell you. Though you may not like it.

Well in the english ending, you hear Chihiro and her parents talking. Her dad says, "A new school and new house must be scary huh?" and Chihiro replies, "I think I can handle it." This STRONGLY implies that she remembers her adventure in the spirit world. In the japanese ending, they just drive off, STRONGLY implying that Chihiro forgets about everything. Why do you think Haku told her not to look back...if she looked back she would've remembered. When I found that out, my heart nearly burst from sadness.

I know right?! I was practically freaking out when I found out...and if that sad goodbye (where their hands are slowly drifting apart) wasn't bad enough...SHE HAD TO FORGET!
