Nah, I think it's the other way round. Viewers are meant to see what emotions the piece manages to evoke from them, the abstract artists are just having random fun. Maybe it's a secret...

Well I'm kind of an abstract artist myself, so that's what i know, anyway..
Seriously, inspiration does come from random sources, and sometimes the drawing/painting dictates itself. It grows on its own.
