Description Onix:

Onix looks very much like a creature that could split a large truck in two with just one swipe of its tail (and believe us, it could!), but despite its intimidating size and fierce looks, its surprisingly mild mannered and quite shy around humans. though they have no predators whatsoever, often times they still feel the need to keep themselves hidden away from everything, and the way they do that is by burrowing underground. unfortunately, their burrowing has been known to cause massive and rather destructive earth tremors that can harshly effect any nearby cities or towns.

Onix is greatly known for its massive size and hard, rocky exterior, but surprisingly it wasn't always like that.
a newborn, freshly hatched Onix is actually about 13 inches long, and has skin so bare and soft that it's similar to that of a human.
their skin is also covered with a thick layer of slimy and sticky fluid that allows soil to stick to their bodies as they dig deeper into the ground. the soil that sticks to them will eventually 'merge' with the fluid on their bodies and then harden, creating the rough and rocky hide that we are so used to seeing on them.

Onix hatchlings are rarely seen in the wild because they immediately burrow underground as soon as they hatch, but those that are found by people are often incorrectly labeled as 'Weird-looking mutated Ekans'. And even though they are born very small, it doesn't take very long for them to get as big as they do. In fact, if left alone and not attacked by predators as hatchlings, an Onix can grow to an astonishing 15 feet and 1000 lbs in just a short period of time such as 3 years.

They are carnivores, and have been known to eat Pokemon such as Geodude, Machop, Cubone and Marowak, Doduo, Dodrio, Tauros and pretty much whatever else they can get their mouths on. Only one case of an Onix attacking and devouring a human has ever been documented and the Onix responsible was severely starved. a healthy Onix would never attempt such a thing.

Steelix:

Steelix is even more massive than Onix and much heavier and stronger as well.
but just like its preevolution, it is also not much of one for senseless conflict.
being so heavy now, it has slowed down much more, but with its immense bulk and near indestructible hide, what could it possibly need to be in a hurry for?

As Steelix, it seems to have lost its timid behavior and is now much more bold.
instead of immediately digging underground as soon as it is spotted, it now prefers to stick around and observe its surroundings, it seems to perfectly understand now that its so big that nothing can actually do it too much harm.

Very similar to yet another Steel-type Pokemon (Aron), Steelix has a habit of seeking out metallic objects to devour.
though it will still feed on other Pokemon, it has now developed a craving for metals like iron ore, copper, nickel and of course, steel.
so they have been known to be drawn toward construction sites and will munch away on steel beams used by construction workers...and then appear confused when they are caught red-handed and being yelled at by angry workers.

In many cases, these problem Steelix are most of the time captured and either given away to be kept by trainers or relocated and released back into the wild to areas that are plentiful with both prey and naturally formed metals bits scattered around the land for them to eat such as faraway valleys, mountains and forests.

Killing these Pokemon with the use of fire is NOT a legal option, and is an act that is punishable by imprisonment of up to 30 years.

I absolutely love the way you draw the pokemon in their semi-realism type look. Their small differences and details you note are so spot on. Love it! Great gallery.Ā

So "Kill it with fire" isn't a legal response to encroaching wild life in the pokemon world?

Probably not, though any encounters with the highly dangerous Ultra Beasts (invasive Pokemon from other dimensions) may or may not be considered exceptions.

They do exist in a grey area since it's not entirely clear whether they are actually pokemon or not. Or last I heard something, I THINK that was the deal.

Imagine a junk yard owner, having a Steelix to dispose of (cleaned up) cars... Environmentally-friendly disposal!

Not so environmental-friendly if you count the waste they reject (which must be huge given their size )

I could never figure out how steelix burrowed into the ground with those spikes protruding out of its sides.

And now mega steelix has a manly metal beard, and I am even more stumped.
