I am so sorry for your loss...my grandmother was more of a mother to me than my own mother (which was my grandmother's daughter)..I find your words very sweet, thank you!!

I adore this and your tribute to them, here...
and the fact that you named your account for your grandmother, too...
This is all so fresh for me... as I was away in Feb. to see my Grandma who was very ill, and so soon after she passed away... and I had to return in April...
I am just recently back, and it's been such a difficult and very busy time for me.
We were very very close dare I say, best friends, we even traveled together just the two of us several times, both when I was a kid, and even when I was an adult.
I will miss her, too.
i even put 3 photos about her on dA, before I had to return for the memorial service the 2nd time...
Thank you for sharing this, it meant a lot.

aww i'm glad that you and your mom get along so well...as for me and my mother, we dont talk anymore..since my grandmother died she became a whole different person..trying her hardest to break up my marriage, treating my kids (especially my son who has...but much improved..learning disabilities) like crap..actually i dont speak to ANY of my family!

my grandmother passed away over 10 years ago, and my grandfather passed away 4 years ago....i was more close to her than my own mother!!

yes!! my grandmother passed in 1984 a clot to the brain & my grandfather in a car wreck back in 1992...

well, my other grandfather (i dont have a picture of them up just yet, i need to get one) anyway, he died 20 years ago of cancer, my other grandmother (his wife) died only 3 years ago, she died of heart trouble ..they both died in their late 80's..my grandfather (in the picture) died 4 years ago of i really dont know ( i dont talk to any of my asshole family) he was in his late 80's my granmother who died 10 years ago was in her late 70's and she passed away of congestive heart failure.

they made it into the 80s. don't remember their exact ages. but i do know my grandmother was older than my grandfather.
