Description
If you chose the starter Pycolt, you will be rewarded by the tanky Fire/Normal type: Moosinerate. Moosinerate uses the heated fur on it's back to keep both itself and other Pokemon warm during the harsh winters of the region. It's torch-like horns can also act as a guiding light for those lost in blizzards.

Moosinerate was hard to design; mainly because Moose are difficult to draw, as are many other hooved animals like deer or horses tend to be. but also, it was hard to give it the personality that starters have. Moosinerate is not a traditional aggressive or loud fire starter; it's serene and gentle and calm.
This was also a problem with the other stages: Embruck was very lacking in personality in it's original design. Pycolt was the easiest for personality, but making a moose calf have that stubby, compact body type of a base stage Pokemon was hard. Making Pycolt kinda puppy-like helped a lot.
