Looks like the protest did not turn out so well. DeviantArt is choosing to go with Eclipse being enforced on everyone on May 20th, so I made this piece to show that we'll be entering a hard time this week on Wednesday. May 19th will be the final day before they pull the plug on classic DA as I got a reply from the team saying that it's difficult to maintain working on both versions. As much as I strongly disagree with this, Wix.com and DA are choosing to go with this choice....
Art tools used: Paint Tool SAI v1.2.5, GIMP 2.6.12 and Krita with Adobe Photoshop brush resources.

The reason for EclipseI've just spoken to someone and the important reason that the Deviantart Classic has to go and here's what he or she told me.
"Aside from that, if they were to throw away 3 or possibly more years of development and quite a lot of money sank into it, and cancel Eclipse to keep the old version, we would not get any new features, as it has been for years. The site would slowly break, especially on newer devices, as the code is a patchwork of 20 years - already visible in the broken submit to group menus on deviations, several categories no longer being able to be uploaded to, etc. They would continue to go bankrupt, as they had been struggling to get partnerships, which is their main source of income.
DeviantArt would die a slow, painful death. With Eclipse, they at least have a chance to be around for many more years - even if it doesn't look like that to you right now."
