Description This is a Mew plushie I made for myself *0*
He's made of minky and his eyes are polymer clay, his tail is super long and has wire to make it posable.

This was a project I took to test the minky when I got it XD I really like how it turned out ^^

I love this Mew! I've been making my own pattern up so hopefully it looks as good as yours when I finish Do you mind if I ask how you did the eyes? I use Sculpey III with my stuff but I can't figure out how to make them look like buttons. I usually flatten my eyes out and make them thin since I can't figure how to do the same thing you did. And do you layer the blues over the white or do you paint them on and then glaze?

I don't make the eyes too thinΒ  (well I think I don't, if you think thin maybe like a coin then definitely do them more thick)
I paint the white first, then the blues and then the glaze

Is there a way to make them rounded or was it more of just sculpting them downward from the middle? I think the eyes you made are amazing! I'm trying my hand at making a pattern for Mew as well. I hope mine will look good as well. I have one other question... what is minky? I went to Joann's and got this purple ~ [link] ~ and it was labeled as minky but it looks nothing like the minky everyone else uses in there plushies. Only other minky I saw was this weird pattern shaped ones. They had like these ovals pressed into them.

Yep you should try to sculpt the eye more to make it round a bit on the edges

I don't think that is minky, to be honest I believe that the only place to buy minky is online, there's no minky in the fabric stores here and from what I've hear other people say there's no minky in fabric stores in general.

Thanks for you're help with both Joann's labels it as minky in the store in more than one place. They label it on the yard rolls they have and above where you find it since they divide all fabric by type. I thought it was kinda weird how it's minky yet looks nothing like the minky you and other people were using. Once I finish with the pieces I bought I'll shop online for some real minky.
