Description In light of this getting almost 40 views for no apparent reason. . .I changed the title. Yeah yeah. Shhush.

Edit For those who didn't realize it, the color version of this is something I submitted into my gallery back in December of last year. If you'd like to look, go here [link] Thanks!
End edit

Manip. . .I don't usually submit my manips. . .yeah but it was fun to do.

Constructive criticism appreciated!

If anybody out there feels you absolutely must use this as a stock image, just tell me, by the skies.

Totally believelable manip. I expect to see Christopher Walken (the scariest Headless Horseman EVER) to come thundering down that road towards me. Or from behind me. You never know. I like this so much, I think it would make a terrific print.

Oh no kidding. How much do I love that movie. He was definitely the scariest.

And thanks, btw. I'm glad it achieved an effect.

Thank-you. It has the right amount of creepy, I think.

I'm saddened by the obvious lack of zombies, however.

I looks like a scene from the movie. All 'cept the street sign.

heh, yeah. It was actually in a cemetery, and I was a little confused by the street signs myself. . .

What a great composition. I like the depth in the shot. BW was a good idea- I like it better than the color. Ever thought about toning it though? An area such as this needs to be re-visited. I see many possibilities at this place (with fog present). A figure or subject would be a good touch too, imo. Overall this is a great image to just stare at.

blueseas In reply to 35mm-SAM [2007-05-03 16:06:59 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I experimented with some toning when I was making the shot, and it looked nice, but I still prefered the black overall.

I totally agree, and I thought it when I was taking the shot. But when you are wandering around a foggy cemetery by yourself at 8 am. . .maybe it's good I didn't come upon anyone, lol. I definitely plan to visit it again; it's a cemetery a few towns over. Unfortunately, we only get fog like this in the coldest part of winter, in January. *waits patiently*

I do like it, I just wish it wasn't so pixelated.

there are ways to diminish the degree of pixilation ..do you have Photoshop??

blueseas In reply to buildingclimber [2005-11-10 22:13:10 +0000 UTC]

I do at school, and soon at home I'll have photoshop CS2. I would love some tips! Also, when I get my computer at the end of the month (when I'm done building it, lol) I will probably be getting a scanner, and I really want to learn how to scan negatives. Do you know anything about that sort of thing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

buildingclimber In reply to blueseas [2005-11-11 01:49:55 +0000 UTC]

if you wish to scan negatives slides and print i highly recommend the Canon 4200 f under $100.00 at Walmart .. I have it ..it is usb hookup and works better than some of the higher priced ones i had bought previously . I am gradually scanning all my negs and slides and transferring them all to cd's the Canon gets ten out of ten from me.

Oh good! I love Canon! *has a canon camera* I'll definitely check it out, I have been worried about how expensive scanners can be.

You always help me so much Thanks!

it's a nice concept to it, but i think it's too dark. try adding some light to it. might look good in color, too

blueseas In reply to usm08 [2005-11-09 19:54:28 +0000 UTC]

[link] The color version! It is one of the most succesful photos in my gallery. Thanks. I liked the darkness more than the lighter version because it wasn't as pixelated.

very nice.. the name takes away from it though.. if its for stock and no special meaning is behind it then it doesnt matter about the name.. a beautiful pic love the tone.. as for being dark it is a little but i like it like that ..

Aun-Juli [2005-11-07 18:59:43 +0000 UTC]

I think it is a little too dark, but given the theme of the manipulation it was probably better to go more on the dark side. I really like this, despite moderate pixellation.

Nice job. I love watching your talents grow.

blueseas In reply to Aun-Juli [2005-11-07 19:56:09 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how to get rid of all the noooissse *whines*

Got any tips?

The darker actually works better with a cemetery. The image is just so pixelated and noisy and lame in color as well as this manip I just got sick of the photo. I wish I had a negative scanner.

ZPhotoshop has a noise reducer, its best if you try and reduce noise per channel.

blueseas In reply to powowcow [2005-11-07 23:19:49 +0000 UTC]

Is that a new photoshop or something? Oh, maybe I should learn what channels are.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

powowcow In reply to blueseas [2005-11-08 01:17:08 +0000 UTC]

Channels are the separete colours that make up the photo, typically it's RGB or Red/Green/Blue. Channels are a key part of photoshop. I just started to understand the whole channel thing. lol
