Some of you might recall a pencil sketch commission I did a few years ago of a dragon and priestess.. I've received many of comments on that picture asking if I was ever going to color it. Long story short was no.. since it was a commission and it's almost 4 years old now.But because of all the wonderful comments I was inspired to create my own version, with a new character, which was inspired by a story my sister was writing. So the girl became an Air Pirate and the Dragon got a few limbs...
but overall I'm happy with the stylized composition, and feel satisifed with my recreation of an overly used combo, girls and dragons, what more could you ask for?

I am SO glad your sister sent me a link to your art: this piece is amazing. Why, why, why can't writers draw!!!
But then again, it's kind of an advantage: writers get inspired by artists, artists get inspired by writers. Quid for quo (or however that line goes).

Wonderful colours, like alive! I like her hair tangles, they catch heart and squeeze. She looks so noble and confident I think I will have dream about her being me.

THIS is really awesome. First of all, love the style and the colors (the gray and the orange on the dragon is a really nice combination, and much better than the blues, reds, or greens that I usually see). Secondly, love the pose. Love that they're opposite (head to foot) and how they're intertwined, and that she's floating... awesomely.
I remember the old picture you're talking about, I actually referenced it myself when commissioning you, heh heh. This is a really nice piece to come out of that, and definitely unique from the other person's commission

Yep I will be, it's not super insta though... usually takes me a good portion of the day, so I recommend getting in line early if you want one. and definately bring some references, that helps ^_^

Fabulous work! I really like the line-art style you work with, and your CG colouring skills are clearly very finely honed. The textured background is a very nice touch, as well - it would have been so easy to leave it as a solid colour or gradient, but you're clearly not the kind of artist who does things by halves.

Well, if it's any consolation, it doesn't look rushed from an outside perspective. If this is the quality of work that you haven't spent all the time you'd like to on, then i'm guessing that the standard of your regular work is a sight to behold!
