Description

Alchemy is a philosophical and protoscientific tradition practiced throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia that aimed to purify, mature, and perfect certain objects. It is the medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold or to find a universal elixir. Since ancient times, alchemists could have be considered very early chemists but in today’s fight these duo warriors learned how to weaponize the arts of Alchemy;

Battle of the Alchemist!

Edward & Alphonse – the main protagonists of Fullmetal Alchemist. Edward and Alphonse Elric live in the rural town of Resembool with their mother, their father one day left them without reason which Edward still holds a grudge on. Anyway, at an early age both Edward and Alphonse showed a great talent for alchemy, but it wasn’t long until they lost their mother who died from a plague. After finishing their alchemy training, the brothers attempted to bring their mother back by using alchemy. Tragedy occurs when the transmutation backfires because of one single principle; the law with equivalent exchange, in order to gain a greater value of something you must offer something worth the same value in return which the brothers didn’t have. As the result of trying to play god, Edward loses his left leg while Alphonse is dragged into the Gate of Truth. To bring back his little brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm to retrieve Alphonse's soul and binds it to a suit of steel armor with a blood seal. Edward vowed to make his brother human again but in order to get resources and information they needed help, that’s when they meet the flame alchemist Roy Mustang which he invited Edward to become a State Alchemist to research a way to restore Alphonse's body by searching for or how to create a Philsospher’s Stone. After passing his exams and because of Edwards prosthetic automail limbs and use of metal in his alchemy, he became a state alchemist with the title as the Fullmetal Alchemist while Alphonse was named the Armored Alchemist. Despite his stature, Edward is a remarkable combatant as during his time under Izumi Curtis allowed him to condition his body through regular workouts and sparring. This results in Edward having a compactly muscular build that, with his naturally high energy level and endurance, fuels his considerable strength and agility as a particularly competent hand-to-hand fighter. Alphonse is no push over either, despite his kind nature during their training Alphonse was more skilled and Alphonse won majority of his sparring matches with Edward. As alchemists, both Edward & Alphonse are prodigies in genius level intellect. Having self-taught themselves from reading advanced literature in their father's abandoned study at an early age as they see the world alchemically and therefore are able to solve complicated codes, puzzles and mysteries much more easily than the average human. As one of few alchemists to commit human mutation and came face to face with the universal entity called Truth, both the Elric Brothers can perform alchemy without the need to draw a Transmutation Circle like most alchemists. By merely clapping their hands together and use their own will power, Edward & Alphonse can transmutate with both instantaneous and incredibly versatility. They are both masters of whatever is in their surroundings as they’ll literally alter the field by summoning rocks in any shape they want. They can also transmute weapons from their surroundings, but Edward normally uses his alchemy to convert his automail arm with into an arm blade. Even though Alphonse is a walking suit of armor, he’s just as agile and he can even transmutate a piece of him that he’s lost. These two are incredible as they helped liberate villages from dictatorship, fought on par with trained soldiers, alchemists, chimeras, and homunculi, when Aplhonse had the Philosopher’s Stone he was able to bypass the laws of Equivalent Exchange so he can transmute whatever he wants without limit which he was able to take on both Kimblee and the homunculus Pride at the same time, Edward became the youngest State Alchemist in history at the age of 12, Edward kicked a lion chimera 20 feet in the air, after his automail arm was reinforced Edward could block the shadows of Pride, Edward was smart enough to copy Scar's alchemy who deconstructs matter to defeat Slicer and figured out how to hurt the homunculus Greed, during his fight with Roy Mustang Edward survived a explosion powerful enough to blow up an iron cannon, Edward escaped the alternate dimension of homunculus Gluttony's stomach as well as defeated Pride the first and strongest of the homunculi, and Edward beat his Father in a fight after he had become God. These brothers are powerful but they two have flaws, for Edward he has a temper especially if its about his size and can’t use his alchemy if he lost his automail arm. For Alphonse if his blood seal is damaged or washed away he dies, his Philosopher's Stone has a certain amount of uses and if used too much the souls in it will run out and it will become useless, and just like Edward if Alphonse loses any of his arms he can’t use alchemy but if his armored body is broken while not dead he is in a vulnerable state.

Edward- "A lesson without pain is meaningless. For you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return. But once you have recovered it and made it your own... You will gain an irreplaceable Fullmetal heart."

Alphonse- “I won't leave you! I'm sick of watching people die! and I can't just sit back and take it anymore! I won't let anyone else get killed! Not when I can protect them!”

Kazuki & Tokiko – protagonists of Buso Renkin. The story of Buso Renkin begins with a high school student named Kazuki Muto, who sees a strange figure stalking a girl to an abandon factory. The strange figure turns out to be a alchemical monster called a homunculus which tries to attack the girl but Kazuki saves her but is killed during the process. The girl who he saved was Tokiko Tsumura, an alchemist warrior, who was trying to lure the homunculus in an area where nobody could get hurt so she can take it out without any casualties but failed unfortunately. Feeling responsible and guilty, Tokiko revives him by replacing his destroyed heart with a Kakugane. The Kakugane is an alchemical device which, when activated, takes a weapon form based on its user's personality, forming a buso renkin; the only thing that can destroy a homunculus. Kazuki creates his own buso renkin and joins Tokiko and the other Alchemist Warriors in their fight against the homunculi and their master, Koushaku Chouno. After training with his Buso Renkin with Tokiko and Captain Bravo, he is shown to be an agile fighter able to dodge and block most attacks and efficiently attack with his lance. Because he heart has been replaced with a Kakugane, he can take hits better than most Alchemist as the Kakugane gives healing properties as well as any injuries he sustains there are no longer fatal. During his battles Kazuki has become more perceptive of his opponent’s movements and can plan his attacks quickly. Kazuki’s Buso Renkin is a lance called Sunlight Heart, which takes the form of a spear-lance with a large decorative cloth attached. The cloth is turned into an energy force when it resonates with Kazuki's willpower. The cloth's energy can be used as propulsive kinetic energy for forward charging or dissipating the gravitational forces of a fall. His lance can blind enemies with its light and if he wraps the cloth around the lance he can use its energy force to increase the overall speed and destructive force of the charge. During one their fights with Chouno, Tokiko lend her Kakugane to Kazuki which turned into another Sunlight Heart which Kazuki used to dual wield but only used it once since wielding both lances energies were unstable which left Kazuki exhausted and lack of experience. Sunlight Heart permanently evolved into Sunlight Heart Plus after Kazuki's Kakugane resonated with Victor's Black Kakugane and revealed itself to be Black Kakugane III. At first glance, seems inadequate as a lance due to its decreased reach and size but Sunlight Heart Plus's true properties is to vastly increase its reach and power by responding to Kazuki's willpower to unleash its self-contained energy, disassembling into, and arranging its core components in the most efficient formations. Though lacking the cloth, it can generate propulsive forces from the point at the end of the handle which opens to release kinetic energy and it can also fire off blasts of internal energy. During Kazuki’s fight with Victor, an Alchemist Warrior turned Homunculus, it was discovered his Kakugane was the Black Kakugane III the same as Victor’s and after awakening it it transformed him into a Victor giving him glowing light green hair, red eyes, and tanned skin with an outline of the Black Kakugane on his chest. The transformation is triggered when Kazuki was angry as it sent him into a berserker rage when he first fought Victor and he was only in the 1st stage in the entire series. When becoming a Victor Kazuki can absorbs people's life force and is able to kill a person by draining his/her energy. The energy drain ability allows Kazuki to heal wounds and regenerate lost limbs almost instantly, having even more vitality than a homunculus. His speed in this form is greatly increased to the point where he can catch even Victor off guard and almost match his strength. Tokiko’s turn! As a young girl, her school was attacked by Homunculi who killed and eaten but her leaving her as the only survivor and was eventually found by Mamoru Sakimori aka Captain Bravo and took her in to become an Alchemist Warrior. After meeting Kazuki and bringing him back to life she trained him as she was a skilled Alchemist Warrior during this point of the series. Tokiko is an extremely fast fighter, able to jump off rooftops, dodge most attacks and strike back with deadly accuracy. Because of her Kakugane she too is very durable and when wielding her Kakugane also heals her wounds but at a slow rate compared to Kazuki’s. In battle she is highly perceptive and cunning, able to come up with strategies on the fly to help defeat her opponents. Tokiko’s Buso Renkin is Death-Scythe or Valkyrie Skirt, which takes the form of four scythe-like blades that are connected to attachments clamped to her thighs. The Valkyrie Skirt can be controlled through the synaptic nerve impulses through her skin as she can mentally control the four blades at once in any direction she wants. If any of her blades do break from the skirt, she can still wield them as swords or even throw them at opponents like daggers. She can fight numerous enemies at once and using them to boost her jumps and cushion her landings. She has also used them to traverse difficult terrain and even skate across walls and ceilings like a spider. Valkyrie Skirt unfortunately is ill-equipped to fight enemies of great physical power or endurance, so to make up for these deficiencies Tokiko uses strategy and agility. Valkyrie Skirt also has a Standby Mode where the blades fold up and shrink to resemble miniature wings hence why nicknamed “Valkyrie Skirt”. These two have slain numerous of homunculi each with crazy abilities and defeated alchemist warriors like Captain Bravo, both were evenly matched against the Hayasaka twins, Kazuki defeats Shusui Hayasaka who is a master at kendo and his Buso Renkin is a sword that neutralizes and absorbs energy-based attacks and releases the energy, both have fought Papillon who is a genius level strategist and in Kazuki’s final battle with him he beats him, both saved their high school and everyone in it from a homunculus invasion, and Kazuki defeated Victor Powered who before he became a homunculus was the best alchemist warrior in the alchemist army who and still a Buso Renkin that manipulated gravity and although he was able to enter the 3rd stage of his Victor form where he can alter his size Kazuki beat him in battle by literally stabbing with his Sunlight Heart all the way to the moon and fought for days there! The two end up together and eventually have a son named Soya Muto who also becomes an Alchemist Warrior. These two are awesome but each Buso Renkin while having their strengths have their weaknesses, as stated Tokiko’s Buso Renkin doesn’t do well against enemies of great physical power which is why she relies on speed and strategy, Tokiko also has a temper especially when it’s involved with homunculus. Also, if Tokiko happens to lose her Kakugane she can’t use her Buso Renkin and the Valkyrie Skirt has been broken a few times in the series from strong attacks. Kazuki on the other hand has his Kakugane as his life source so he can’t lose it but if his Kakugane is removed or destroyed he won’t survive.

Kazuki- “Yes...But not now! I won't give up just yet!! Bravo. Those words gave me the courage to become an Alchemist Warrior like you! So if I still have six weeks left to live as a human being I'm going to pursue my beliefs to the very end! With the life that Tokiko gave me, I'm going to fight to the very end!!”

Tokiko- “I'm here so that day will never be repeated again so that I can kill every last Homunculus!!”
