I haven't played Metal Gear Solid all that much, but I have to admit that Solid Snake is a pretty cool character. And since seeing the images from MGS 4...whoa...that game is gonna rock.Anyway, I digress...I mostly made this image to further train in using Painter and textures. I've tried to emulate the style of the AMAZING *Artgerm to a certain degree, who also happens to be a Snake fan. Lemme know what you think!

Initial painting: Painter IX, around 2 hours
Textures and colors: Photoshop CS2, around an hour
Textures by *resurgere who makes the best damn textures I've yet to see.

I have my doubts about MGS4, but this homage is just perfect. Snake is one heck of a bad mofo, and he looks the part here. Wish I could pinpoint the brushwork resemblance.. But suffice to be said that it's awesome.
