Nothing like starting your first deviation of the month with the first artwork you created the previous month *hit* Just to show you what a backlog I have, hahah :3 But yes! If you recall from the last image I posted... I've been using some photo references for some parent/child scenes. This was the first one I did ^^

Seeing as I did an adorable image of Masevar and little Mase back in September... I figured it was time for something cute of Mase (baby gerbil) and his mommy, Aleena (feline) (used a photo of Christina Aguilera and her baby Max, which I thought was super cute ;; ) Obviously, I made up most of the background myself though~

It should be said... I adored this picture until I coloured it D: I figured, seeing as I'd bought more marker colours lately, surely I could get away with doing these two in marker colours. Words cannot describe the amount of FAIL that assumption was Upon colouring just a few objects... I realized that markers was not the good choice I thought it was DX Upon completing this... I spent a good hour or two screaming in mental anguish that I had not used pencils :C

Now mind you... the more I looked at it, after awhile... it wasn't quite as bad as I originally thought it was. I'm still rather disappointed that I didn't use pencils (except for the window sunset), seeing as it would have given this picture a much more softer look, which would have been mood appropriate... but alas. Live and learn.

It's still a lovely scene captured regardless Drawing Aleena all motherly just suits her so well Baby Mase came out pretty decent too... I should practice babies MOAR 8U *bricked* Probably will be, if I use some more of those magazine references But yes. Bweee!
