I suppose you live in the south. Me too, so this is a common sight here. Actually, this is part of the state flag of the state where I currently live - maybe it's the only one to still have it. A vote several years ago to change the flag due to it being offensive (or "offensive") was taken, but there weren't enough (representative) votes to change it.

I remember talking going to the Citadel and talking to the Civil War professor about this.
He explained it to me like this: In the 17th century, armies were still fighting with pikes, with musket men being used to pepper the enemy. The main "fighting" was done in melee. This mentality dragged over into 18th century, when the socket bayonet was invented, and musketmen were still expected to charge into the fray and give the enemy the "cold steel". Relatively decent plan, considering you couldn't hit the broad-side of a barn past 150 meters.
Anyhow, this did not go well after the proliferation of rifling, which made the civil war muskets lethal up and beyond 600 meters, and the invention of the Mine Ball, which caused much more damage than a traditional lead ball.
Anyhow, the idea of "giving the cold steel" was still there, so engagements often ended up being decided by commanders who charged their brigades straight into the fray, only to get mowed down....

Yeah, I know. I don't really see Henry V as a hero, per-say. He was a man, just like anyone else, trying to expand the realm of his Kingdom. Much like any medieval King.
Speaking of, have you heard? There is a referendum being drawn up in the English Parliament that cast a vote for Scottish Independence in 2014. Scotland could have it's freedom again for the first time since 1707.
