Description Mineral(s): Bottinoite and Ullmannite with Quartz and Dolomite, minor Chalcopyrite
Locality: Dörnberg Mine, Ramsbeck, Sauerland, Germany

The quartz and dolomite here might be more eye-catching than the featured mineral on this specimen!
Small turquoise-blue bladed crystals of the rare mineral bottinoite in one area with dark ullmannite cubes (nestled amongst the bottinoite - hard to see in this photo) amongst a matrix of yellowish dolomite rhombs and prismatic white quartz crystals. Tiny specks of chalcopyrite dot the surfaces of the dolomite. The bottinoite (nickel antimony hydroxide) is a byproduct of decaying ullmannite (nickel antimony sulfide) crystals.

This is more or less a specimen best seen with a hand lens, and my camera currently cannot capture those tiny crystals in great detail.
