Description Mineral(s): Fluorite, minor Chalcopyrite
Locality: Bergmännisch Glück Flacher Vein, Frisch Glück Adit, Bergmännisch Glück Mine, Frohnau, Annaberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany

Here I try to illustrate how different light sources can affect the appearance of a mineral.
This rather geometrically-pleasing cluster of "rainbow fluorite" from Germany has color zoning of green, blue, purple, and a very small amount of yellow (not visible in photo). The light source I'm using is an incandescent lamp, which exhibits a warm white color and basically turned the entire fluorite specimen a reddish purple color, with the blue and green colors hardly apparent.

Check out my other photo to see how this specimen looks like under L.E.D. lighting: bmah.deviantart.com/art/Rainbo…
