c'mon man, i need to feel big again!i must give credit where credit is due (damn country songs). i am not the first person to make this joke, or even the secound, or fifteenth for that matter. i think it is fair to say that every Mario fan has at some point drawn the comparison to Mario and a drug addict. and i'm sure this idea has lead many to picture Mario sneeking off to some back alley to get his next fix. so credit for this one goes to the entire Mario fan community. thank you.

true, not physically/chemically addictive. but any behavior can become addictive simply due to it being enjoyable, though it's probably better described as a habit. but "habitual shrooms muncher" doesn't have the right sort of ring to it.
