Description
Starlight soared through the blue skies of Skyland City, the lovely heroine a vision of red and black as she glided gracefully among the white clouds. The young redhead was covered in her typical heroic outfit. A midriff baring red and black tank top which gave a teasing view of her low neckline as well as a clear view of her sculptured abs, black tights that seemed almost painted on her long, athletic legs that were further highlighted by a short, flirty red skirt, a pair knee high, black boots, and a matching pair of elbow long, black gloves. The heroic outfit was completed by a pair of shiny golden bracers that adorned the heroine’s forearms, a metallic golden belt with a shiny red gem in its buckle that circled her trim waist, and a red mask that covered her pretty face, keeping her identity a close secret. Starlight narrowed her eyes as she heard an explosion and increased her speed with a determined expression, her fists clenched as she got ready for action. After mere moments the heroine arrived at the scene of the explosion, her eyes slightly widening as she saw the mayhem, the crashed and burning vehicles and the blockade that the police had set up. Starlight descended from the sky, noticing a familiar figure among the police officers behind the blockade and landed right next to her.
“Kate, are you okay? What is going on here?” the heroine said with worry, as the dark haired detective turned towards her.
“Starlight, it’s a good thing you have arrived. Things have been a mess here but at least we managed to clear the plaza before anyone got really hurt. There has been a few wounded, a lot of property damage, but fortunately no casualties” Kate said with a calm voice, but Starlight could tell she more agitated than she let out.
“That’s good, but what exactly is going on here? What caused all this destruction?” Starlight said.
“Well, take a look over there and you’ll get your answer” Kate pointed out towards the plaza, causing the heroine to look at the source of the mayhem. Her eyes widened as she saw a ten feet tall, robotic, humanoid juggernaut with bulging muscles. It looked something between a metallic exoskeleton or a suit of heavyweight armor, with glowing red eyes, a metallic Mohawk hairstyle, large arms and hands with steel, black gloves and boots, while a green glow radiated from the joins in its dark grey armor.
“What is that thing? Don’t tell me, another robot that Galaxy Corporation lost?” the redhead said, a hint of disdain evident in her voice.
“That’s what we know so far. I will tell you the details later but for now, can you stop this thing? We can’t even scratch it” Kate said.
“I will! Tell everyone to stay away” Starlight said decisively as she got up and flew over the tumbled car that they used as cover.
“Got it. And Starlight, be careful! That thing is even tougher than it looks! Our guns didn’t even scratch it, and it tossed around cars like they were nothing” Kate said, clenching her gun. Starlight looked towards the brunette, a small smile on her rosy lips as she noticed the concern in the detective’s words and nodded reassuringly.
“Don’t worry! I’ll be done before you say pizza time!” Starlight said confidently. Kate simply shook her head with a small smile, as the red haired heroine flew towards the rampaging machine and landed in front of it.
“The new Terminator model sure is buff! It’s hard to beat the classics, though” she chuckled, putting one of her hands on her hip as the large robot turned towards her. Its glowing red eyes flickered brighter and it instantly threw the steel column it was holding at a high speed, with the heroine barely dodging it.
“Whoa, someone has a temper! Although that is a common reaction for most people when they are reminded of the two last Terminator movies. Well then, let’s get this over with, shall we?” Starlight said as she dashed towards the rampaging machine, dodging a swing from one of its large arms and landing a hard blow with her fist on its large body. Sparks flew and there was a heavy thud as the robot stumbled backwards, having a small dent to where the fist landed but other than that, it seemed undamaged.
“This thing really is hard. And fast too” Starlight mumbled as she dodged another wide, and rather quick, swing from the robot. The mechanic juggernaut continued its assault by raising one of its tree like legs and landing a heavy kick that the heroine managed to block by raising her arms, but the force of the kick was enough to send her stranding several feet backwards. Starlight clenched her fists and dashed forward, landing an even heavier strike but her eyes widened in shock as the robot actually dodged her fist and then grabbed her arm, lifting it and holding her in front of it.
“This is not good” the heroine only had moments to realise her predicament before the hulking robot raised its free arm and unleashed a flurry of piston like punches with its large fist.
“Uuuuugh! Oooooff! Ummmff! Gaaaaagghh!” Starlight groaned and grunted as the ruthless machine pummelled her rock hard abs, turning her into a helpless punching bag. The assault stopped as suddenly as it started and Starlight hung limply from the robot’s arm, as the ruthless machine aimed its large fist at the heroine’s face.
“Starlight! No!” Kate yelled desperately, watching helplessly as her heroic partner was about to get smashed. The robot unleashed a devastating blow, but Starlight was not out yet. The redhead managed to move away at the last moment, dodging the large fist and landed a hard knee strike on the robot’s large chin, causing it to stumble backwards and loosen its grip, releasing her. Starlight landed groggily on her feet, rubbing her sore navel but she had no time to recover as the mechanical menace was on the attack again, charging towards her and tackling her with its broad, steel shoulder. The heroine gasped as she was knocked backwards and landed roughly on the ground. Starlight gasped, trying to catch her breath and got up but the robot spread its large arms and started spinning its upper body around like a helicopter, striking her hard and knocking her down on the street again. The heroine slowly shook her head, trying to get her bearings when she felt a cold, hard grip on her leg.
“Not again” Starlight groaned as the hulking machine lifted her and started slamming her on the ground like a ragdoll, leaving small craters on the hard concrete where she landed before she tossed her away roughly, sending crashing on the street like a sack.
“This is bad! That thing is way stronger than we thought. I need to do something!” Kate said completely shaken as she got up and prepared to move closer, but she was pulled back by a fellow officer.
“Detective Wilson, no! You can’t help, if you go out there you will only risk yourself!” the police officer said, causing the brunette to look towards him with a frustrated and agitated expression.
“You, you have a point. But I can’t simply stand like this! What are you doing Starlight?! Are you really going to let this stupid bucket toss you around like that? Just get up and smash that thing already!” she yelled, trying to encourage her heroic partner who simply stirred on the ground. The robotic juggernaut remained still for a moment, then suddenly smoke came from behind its back and it propelled itself on the air like a rocket. It took height and then suddenly stopped in midair and started free falling towards the ground, its large, tree like legs standing straight as it aimed directly for the lying heroine, intent on landing directly on her.
“Starlight, move!” Kate yelled desperately. As if on cue, Starlight rolled out of the way just a few moments before the large robot landed on her, the heavy juggernaut stomping the ground with force and leaving a large crater.
“She’s up! She is not out yet!” Kate let out a heavy sigh, but she was far from relieved yet. The robot slowly pulled itself from the crater it formed and Starlight remained on one knee, trying to catch her breath before she slowly got on her feet, rubbing her midriff.
“That, really sucked! Okay you big pile of junk, you did it! You managed to make me angry!” Starlight said slowly as she glared furiously at the robot that aimed with its broad shoulder and propelled itself towards her, intent on tackling her again. The heroine braced herself and dashed towards the robot as well, letting out a big cry as she collided directly with the metallic juggernaut. The force of the impact caused the barricade that the police had set up to tremble and everyone noticed the large machine getting knocked backwards and crashing on the hard concrete, while Starlight stood her ground.
“That’s more like it! You got this, Starlight!” Kate said enthusiastically, pumping her fist in the air as she tried to encourage her partner, the normally calm and collected detective having completely lost her composure during the fight. Starlight stepped slowly towards the large robot that slowly stood up and landed a heavy blow with its large fist. The redhead however grabbed the large fist and squeezed it, causing sparks and smoke to fly. It was the robot’s turn to try and pull itself away from a hard grip but Starlight clenched her fist and landed a powerful blow directly in the robot’s midsection, smashing completely through it and breaking it in half. Everyone gasped at the brutal hit that the normally friendly and cheerful heroine landed, as Starlight simply scoffed and tossed the upper half of the large robot right next to its legs. Her eyes slightly widened as the still functioning machine pulled itself and started crawling towards the heroine with its large arms, but she quickly regained her composure and aimed her arm towards it.
“Time to end this little slugfest you stupid bucket! Sparkling Flash!” Starlight said as she shot a powerful, golden energy wave, completely smashing the hulking robot and blowing it away in a scattered pile of small, smoking pieces of scrap metal.
“She did it!” Kate said with a mix of enthusiasm and relief, as she got from behind the car she had taken cover and moved swiftly towards the heroine who let out a long sigh, rubbing her shoulders, while everyone around her started clapping and cheering.
“That was a little tougher that I expected. Stupid thing kept coming at me” Starlight mumbled, feeling her entire body sore from the brawl. Kate managed to regain her cool and didn’t instantly pounce on the redhead to hug her, instead she stepped towards her in a composed way.
“Well you did it, but you had everyone worried there for a moment. Are you okay?” the brunette asked calmly, but with evident worry in her voice.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little sore, but nothing to worry about. A nice rest and a warm bath should do the trick. So, what exactly was that thing?” Starlight asked, looking towards the smoking remains of the destructive machine.
“As you already guessed, it’s another cutting edge piece of technology that was developed by Galaxy Corporation. A prototype still in development that was supposed to be used for heavy lifting and rescue missions, in conditions that might be too extreme or dangerous for humans” Kate explained.
“Rescue missions? Sure, but that thing looks like it was developed to be used for other purposes, more like military ones. Especially with its aggressiveness and the way it hits” Starlight said.
“That’s a good observation. And the most troubling thing is that this prototype was reported missing a few days ago. And here it was now, rampaging through the streets” Kate shook her head, folding her arms.
“Another prototype missing? You would think that one of the biggest and most technologically advanced corporations in the world would have better security, especially with projects like this. Unless, they are not really missing” Starlight narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
“I get your suspicions but this not the place or the time for a conversation like this. We need to clear this mess, and you need to rest” Kate pointed out.
“Fine, fine! It’s not like I can argue with getting some rest. Besides, I feel so sore. I could also use a nice, relaxing massage” Starlight said vaguely, before she glanced playfully towards the tall brunette.
“I’ll try to wrap things up around here as quickly as I can. If you really need someone to give you a massage, and maybe order some pizzas, you could swing by my place later” Kate said with a wry smile.
“Sounds great! It’s a date then! See you later, detective Wilson!” Starlight said with a bright smile as she levitated, winking at the lovely police woman before she turned around.
“I can’t wait, my lovely Starlight!” Kate mumbled, as she watched the beautiful heroine fly away.
