The Artemis Fowl series of books written by the wonderful Eoin Colfer has been relaunched in the UK with new covers. I was lucky enough to be commissioned to do the illustrations.From my Artemis Fowl gallery [link]
I realise there will be some people who don't like the new covers and I toadly respect that, but please bear in mind that the publishers and Eoin Colfer wanted to create something fresh, unique and unexpected to attract new readers to the criminal world of Artemis Fowl where fantasy mixes with sci-fi to create an incredible and very funny series of adventures.

Thaaaaaaaanks. I tried some even more extreme angles with extreme expressions but they were a bit too much for the publishers. I always say it's better to go too far and get pulled back a little than to not go far enough and have to be pushed.

Amen, sir, amen. I'm fairly rubbish at extreme angles myself, but then I haven't practiced much... not been doing much drawing, just pencil sketches of OCs.

Yes I is he! Thank you Rachel, that means a lot to me because we (the publisher, the designer, Eoin Colfer and me) didn't want to upset existing fans but we wanted to do something new and unexpected, something very Artemis Fowl. There have been a few hate messages on AF forums about the new covers so it's nice to know that someone like you, a true Artemis liker, can be open-minded enough to appreciate the amount of thought and creativity we've put into the new covers.
