Just a Rendition of a Raptors Marine.

Well that isn't all that it is. I was thinking of ideas of several ideas that involved the Raptors marines and a bullpup combi-melta.

Firstly I liked the ideas of full sized marines using camo cloaks but wondered how it would be worn on such a massive frame. I ended up with it covering his torso and shoulders all the way down to his ankles, with only the center of the backpack being covered with camo cloak material. I wanted to leave the large exhaust ports open, although they could arguably be covered as well.

The second was to have a bullpup combi-melta design, because it would help shorten the weapon for better handling in a close-in environment and to give the marine options when engaging lightly armoured or heavily armoured targets. The initial thought of using a combi-melta however was because I was looking at modern day rifles with the masterkey shotgun attachment. These were typically used to breach doors. Because the doors in 40k are likely massive and heavily armoured, I felt that it was appropriate to use a melta.

Finally I played around with different pouch designs, mostly inspired by current day magazine/miscellaneous pouches found on military LBVs (load bearing vests)
