i recently play in WH40k winter assault and i feel sorry for those poor cannon fodder, so i try to design some hevier armor for imperial guardsRelated content

It had to be the Imperium shattering in two before the Imperial Guard finally got some real functioning body armor in a universe that wants to kill, devour, torture or atomize them, and sometimes all 4 at the same time.

When Imperial Command got smart and decided to give the guardsmen real dakka and real armor .

Probably something like the Power Armor Inquisitors use - but with a more cheeper and simpler design for its outer plating. A purely hydraulic robotic suit that doesn't require its owner to have bionic and genetic modifications like Space Marines do.

Yea. Because they're expendable. But I imagine the Imperium would be interested in researching cheaper methods of power armor development if they did share the same value to Imperial Guardsmen as they do for their Space Marines. Sure, this armor defiantly looks and probably is inferior to Space Marine Armor in how it functions and how much damage it can take, but looks like something you'd give to a regiment of soldiers as vast as the Imperial Guardsmen are. They are the hammer of the Imperium, using overwhelming numbers to achieve victory, and if this armor was standard issue for them, or had companies of Power Armor divisions in the Imperial Guard, they'd have a more easier time holding off their enemies in attrition based battles.

To be honest that face makes him look like an ogryn, and with few exceptions ogryn wouldn't be able to use such advanced equipment. That said, this is really well done. I imagine this might be something an Ordo Xenos inquisitor would give one of his retinue. If it's an ogryn, he might just include some cerebral enhancements as well. Thoroughly love this pic to bits.

Probably heavy stubber. The armour could be a planet-specific version of carapace armour.

I'm glad you like my idea, but that's not my art. I just responded to your question. I'm not the artist, just a fellow viewer. Also, GW might not go for a different model of carapace armour when the Imperium is technologically-stagnant, because of the lore and maybe because it'll be harder or more expensive to produce more models for various vanity-pieces. If the artist wanted to do it, he could, but he should be ready for rejection for canon art.

i could make this one only need some tau, space marine and guard parts and some cuting and i should be able to make the armor but for the gun i am not sure maby replace it with a storm bolter but il try to make it

Now this is a great piece of tech! Seems he got for himself some Carapace armour and an Autogun. Comparable to the hellguns used by Storm Troopers, so thats some accurate use of firepower there.
His skin looks real too, reminds me of an Ogryn too, so perhaps he grew up in a similiar heavy gravity enviroment? Which would explain his great size and strenght thats for sure.
And for even more attention to realism and detail, the arm holding the Autogun appears to be a bionic - very good choice there, as the recoil level of an autogun often negates the weapon to mounted on vehicles, but with a bionic like that? Nah he can carry one himself.
Excellent piece of work with this one.

further note:
I think the new IG codex rules allow for more personalized upgrades for vetran units table top wise, I don know about a full power suit but you could probably make a heavy armor squad.
