Description And here it is: The final thing, post-worked and all. I gave up counting how many figures are in there, but I'm pretty sure it's the most I've ever managed to squeeze into one scene. I don't even want to think about how many hours that has taken me...

No, I just render three or four figures at a time, usually overnight. There's a tutorial on how I did it in the gallery.

I feel so bad for the girl laying on the right with the arrow in her belly, that's not going to be a quick death.Β  as she lays their wrything in agony as her sisters rush on by her as if she were already dead. Β

Can't deny that while tragic, it's also sexy with that white outfit, bare feet and legs that almost let us see completely under her dress.Β  Soon, modesty won't be one of her worries anymore.

Will you be doing more like this?Β  an after battle shot as all the girls are laying there on the sand, dead?

modesty has always been far from an Amazon's mind under any circumstances anyway, since warloving women have no problem at all having any parts of their intimate flesh exposed. But certainly as she lays screaming and dying nothing could be further from her mind.

Yes one does feel for her, the power of this art fills your emotions, with such a realistic expression of agony and intense suffering. It is not just another pose with a screaming expression but a super realistic one of great suffering. But at the same time that face of pure suffering heightens the dramatic effect so much and makes it so much more exciting. You want to feel for the suffering Amazons, while another part of you is aware at the same time that you are really enjoying it, because its their suffering that makes the whole battle scene so dramatic and so exciting.

A follow up showing all the Amazons sprawled out and slaughtered would be out of this world. But I fear it might be too much work. Well, I hope Bodak attempts it anyway. It would be yet another masterpiece of a very beautiful scene.Β

Indeed.Β  I am caught between a rock in a hard place.Β  I am sorry she is dying, but her death looks sexy to me.Β  Like she prob would arch her back and spread her legs at some point from the pain.Β  not sexual, but it ends up that way anyway.Β  I don't know if I should weep for her death, or jill off as she dies.Β  (yeah I am weird like that.)

That's the amazing thing of the unique erotic fantasy world of Amazons in battle. It allows the opportunity for us to be filled with loving passion for the beautiful Amazons dying in battle, and lying sprawled out and dead. Their heroic, glorious and erotic death in battle makes us love them even more.Β  And of course when they lie sprawled out and dead with all their intimate parts beautifully and fully exposed, then it is truly the height of erotic passion.Β Β

This is a splendid work of pure art that I am going to be returning to again and again. The hours of work have paid off because you have ended up creating a little masterpiece. You capture the body movement of the Amazons in the charge so well, perfectly I would say, making it hyper realistic. Movement is always one the most difficult things to get just right to look real. The setting with the background cavalry etc gives it a great touch. The movement of the hair as they charge and all their expressions, from those charging to those dying and just getting struck like the one on the foreground, are spot on. It's also great how you have portrayed 4 different stages of being struck in all the 4 arrowed Amazons, one just struck, one clutching her arrow in agony, one on her knees about to collapse and one lying slaughtered, having slammed her face down in the sand, showing the viewer that she was already dead on her feet with the arrow in her heart, and thus just dropped face down like a stone. Wonderful foursome, because while the main theme is obviously the body of charging Amazons, it also allows the viewer who loves Amazon battles to admire and enjoy each phase of the dying process of the arrowed Amazons. Also it is such a huge part pf such Amazon battle themes to also throw in some dead and dying which take the excitement to a far higher level. Put simply, no Amazon charge would ever be complete without the scene being adorned with some dead and dying.
Last but not least the effect of their running feet kicking up the sand is super.Β

All in all, a classic, and a very beautiful work of art in the genre of Amazon Battles. Thanks so much for sharing.Β

Well done Mr. B! The centerpiece girl getting arrowed is truly a work of art, her posing and expression is spot-on. Filling the negative spaces with even more to enjoy makes this work epic.

Thank you for taking us on your journey of creating this, it was fun to see the process.Β

One question I have is about the white dresses, I'm noticing at least four different styles worn by the Infantry.Β  Earlier you explained about the Peltasts and the logic behind their simple uniforms, is there a similar logic behind the Infantry uniforms?Β  Do they denote rank or class or region?Β  (Or was there a really good dress sale at the Daz store?)

Bodak1984 In reply to beermanfreo [2018-09-26 05:21:33 +0000 UTC]

I gave the frillier dresses to the guards and the cavalry, with the Infantry taking the plainer ones. I actually used well more than four different dress types on the runners, because I wanted them to look non-uniform. After all, they're paying for their own equipment. Really, they should have had different shields too, but there aren't enough decent shield models to work with.

Also, yes- DAZ have had a few pretty big sales recently, and I've spent far too much...

Excellently done.Β  And for what it's worth, I count 27 on the hill and 23 in the charge, for a total of 50 women!Β  And since they've only taken 4 casualties, they'll be in the fight for a good while.

Counting the ten horses, that makes 60 figures altogether.Β  Tremendous!

Great picture and captured , but two points that bother me personally:

Metal shields are unrealistic.
The Hoplons are too small.

Bodak1984 In reply to bastler [2018-09-24 05:41:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you're OK with women in short dresses though.

Most Hoplons were made from wood and faced in bronze-however, most DAZ studio shields are a single material zone, which means that if one side is done in bronze, so is the other.

The thing about working with shields is that if you position them correctly then you get a wall of circles or oblongs, with a pair of legs underneath and a head poking out above the top.

What I really wanted to showcase was the d-force dresses.
