...pun intended.Here are several full body shots of Kraaal-Ur Crusher the rock troll and guardian of the Ur-gate.
Kraaal-Ur is only the second full sculpt I've ever done- the first was also the first polymer clay figure I ever did and...well, you won't see her here.
Forgive the number of posts I'll have here of the same piece- but a lot went into him, and it's hard to properly represent all the detail of a REAL 3-D piece via a two dimensional medium...and I don't have the soft-ware or know-how to do collages. Sorry...

Oh, if you look at his eyes a bit closer perhaps... He was meant to be fierce and scary originally but in the end he wound being more quiet in his own way and even a little sad and, as someone else put it, world weary. I always picture myself as being very much a creature of the element of Earth and being a creature of a time out of mind and this is what Kraal-Ur became. Perhaps misunderstood at first glance but when one looks closer, deeper, one sees another crature altogether.

Well, being human it's hard for me to always think that way- though I do so from time to time with greater frequency- but I find humans more...sad I suppose.

That's the way, isn't it? Trapped in these human bodies we can't help but act like humans. But I was something else before I got stuck here...I remember it. Maybe I had to be human just for the experience, like people do things just to feel what it's like. Sometimes I can separate myself from the human aspects of me...usually in the joy of my art. Of all creatures I think man is the only one who deep-down inside can't bear to be what he is.
