My favourite variation of it is where those caught by the hunt are doomed to join it, and my favourite of that version is where they become the hunts hounds!

Well depends on what background you look at for the wild hunt, they could be faerie hounds as well (and several sources I've read make the people captured by the hunt become the hounds...
