Neo raced towards the mountains he knew his friend called home, following the silhouette of the black raven that led the way. The weather was foreboding, and steadily became worse the closer his legs carried him.
He couldn't help the feeling of guilt over his petty jealousy he had felt towards Bates all this time he had not seen him. It had been the better part of a few weeks since the last time they had spoken, and due to this, the midnight male thought that Bates simply had better things to do and that their relationship as friends was beginning to have a falling out. They both had lives to live and problems to solve on their own, it was all to easy to lose track of each other. And yet, still, envy and jealousy seized the darker male's heart and led him to resent the name Bates had made for himself. Fame had come so easy to his friend, his tales echo through all of Ulfrheim by word of mouth like the very wind that threatened to pull Neo's silk fur from his very body as he ran now. It had stolen him away and left Neo again in the shadows, still struggling to come to terms with what was expected of himself and who he longed to be. Bates must have been so busy that he couldn't even search out Neo himself, but instead sent the raven that once harbored bad news to retrieve him. His bicolored eyes glared at the raven as if it were it's fault Bates was becoming more distant. As if it were the raven that stole Bates away. Part of Neo truly hated Bates for leaving him behind when he needed his guidance the most, and hoped the blue male would fall upon yet another tragedy to bring him back around. But another part of him was worried.
Surely he was just being dramatic, the raven could be carrying bad news as always and be searching for help... Something could be seriously wrong, the darker male thought only for a moment, and as he paid closer attention to the ravens erratic flight through the stormy sky, that thought began to consume him instead.
'How could I have wished something bad upon you... What sort of monster am I?', Neo thought to himself, bowing his head only slightly as he raced ever forward, praying to Freyja herself that Bates was okay...
