Description

Bates looked to the horizon, brilliant muted pinks to purples to blues filling his sight for as far as he could see, reflecting back against the surface of Lake Lysa.
For the first time in a long time, he felt truly at peace. The chaos of his life has drawn to what felt like a close and left him to embrace the quiet serenity that was as simple and beautiful as that of this sunset. In the quiet dusk air as the sounds of water lapping at the shore and crickets further in the distance filled his ears, all was still. All was peaceful.
He had all he ever needed and all he could ever have dreamed to have. There was no rush, no where to be, no one to see who didn't already know where he was if he was needed.
The air slowly entered into his lungs and he withdrew a long breath as the same air exhaled from his nose. His milky pale eyes closed for a moment as the final rays of the day's sun embraced his form before it would disappear behind the silhouette of mountains in the far distance.

He could simply... be.
