I have several clusters of these on my ceiling at the moment. They're those little origami stars, They're so fun to make. It's very hard to see the invisible thread they're hanging on, so most of the time they really look like they're floating! Plus the beads catch the light and shine because they're glass. Love 'em to pieces and I can't stop myself making more

Those are cuute. I bet if you add some glow-in-the-dark paint/beads/something they'd look adorable at night. *must decorate my room with these too omgosh

I use just normal, transparent scotch tape. But it tends to take the paint off the ceiling, so they're staying up there forever...

You have to tie a knot in one end of the thread (I tie a seed bead to one end, takes a lot less time) and thread the other end through a really fine-point needle. The sharper the better. Then, I just stick it through the bottom of the star and poke around a bit until I push through the very top point as well. (But you have to make sure it's as close to the top as you can get it, otherwise they hang a little bit wonky). But if you do it right, they should all hang fine

Merci, Kliz, thank you for the wonderful compliments. We should go into the city sometime... name a day. Morning Glory is in the carillion mall, very close to perth train station and the horse shoe bridge, so we could very easily get there from school... I'll even shout you some of that paper. Then we could make stars on the train all the way to midland.
