Blending of organic and geometrical forms is just amazing!! Also the combination of surface and line. This is studious work, very interesting in theoretical way. I would recommend, though, more delicate gradation of black tones in the middle. It would add another dimension to viewer by making profound border between those two approach (line-like and surface like) represented in this work.
Overall, really enjoyable piece of art.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yeah, I feel the gradation was a bit weak, especially towards the bottom.

Nice! I've been going to the show for going on five years, I guess I first saw it six or seven years ago.

i really, really love this, plus the Rocky Horror Picture Show is awesome! I like how the color of him is so vibrant and then it fades into doodling- however, i think it would have looked even more excellent if the fade was slightly more...faded lol. the mid and top section looks great but it looks like you just kind of gave up toward the bottom... anyway, beautifully done, he's in all of his glory!

You're totally right, now that I see the fading issue it's bugging me I must have started to fade out the ink at the top and by the time I got to the bottom it was probably drier. :c But thanks so much for the helpful comment!

I really do love the way that it turned out. I don't know what you had in mind for it, but it looks awesome. I love the way that the hair fades into the designs. I love the sections with the polka dots.

Thanks! I was kind of inspired by you and your letters with the doodles on them, since I rarely doodle anymore. Like I think I told you, I can't wait to show you the album art I've been hired to do - Swirly city.

I'm really glad the hair worked out like that, since the paper was otherwise so unpredictable And yes, polkadots, so much fun. Once I had a dream that my art teacher of mine saw me doing polkadots (on the album art comission, actually) and he was disgusted in me, since then I've been so hesitant.

Aw, thanks! I've been in quite the doodling mood myself. I'd really like to work on some more realistic-type drawings, so we'll see how that goes, I guess. I think that it's awesome you got to do the album art. You should get credited for it.

Was the paper just really runny? And how could anyone be disgusted by polka dots?! They're awesome.

good to experiment but it is frustrating when a new tool doesn't work like you thought it would. I like the way this one turned out though, Rocky Horror is great.

Thanks! Yeah, the paper was too fun not to buy but I expected so much more for it with watercolors. I still have some tricks up my sleeve and I'll keep playing, but otherwise I'll save it for something else.
