I thought that swirl was a photomanipulation. That is really neat - makes for a really cool texture.

Thank you The swirl effect is a happy accident I chanced upon just a couple months ago, but now that I'm starting to understand what makes it work, I hope to experiment with it some more

thank you kindly Roger You might achieve a similar effect in a fountain or large enough container for that matter. I think the most important thing is a continuous flow of water to move leaves or even flower petals while other elements outside the water remain perfectly still for more effective contrast. Something I want to try out one day anyways, like maybe a mini artificial waterfall with the backyard hose tap as my streaming water source

hear what you are saying, but I was really commenting on the gripping drought round here in the Hunter Valley in NSW Australia hot and dry... I was up at Davis Creek recently with some photography students.. its an old haunt always running.. this time tho only a few pools of water... when it runs again I shall head up tho...

Thank you kindly Nature is responsible for the effect as the leaves were swirling around. Just needed to leave my camera on tripod for a few seconds so it could capture the motion while leaving everything else perfectly still.
