Maybe a little too subtle, I vary my watermarks from image to image nowadays and it's far from an exact science for me. Ideally I like the watermark to be subtle enough as to not force people to dwell on it, but recognizable enough to make out the website.
This was more of a plain stock photo for me to be honest, a straight path I'm growing used to capturing. I still like to think it's practical, but I didn't want to spend much time fiddling with the watermark so I slapped it on a more monotone area of the image... ie the tree trunk area even though it occupies so little space compared to all the vibrant colours. Nevertheless I'm still comfortable with it for a minimum sense of protection. People can clone it out, but if God forbid I should face a situation of having to legally defend the image as my own, I have the RAW files from 5 separate exposures, as well as other similar images from the same park that have never seen the light of day and backed up only on my external hard drives.

Yeah that's true, I'm pretty happy with the current progress of the website all things considered. For over a year I had been stuck in exposure limbo, seems things are picking up when I look at Alexa for example, and finally I'm starting to rank in the US demographics
