Description i've wanted to visit a certain vantage point called "Rigiblick" in ZΓΌrich for quite some time, and earlier this week i finally have...

i was rather disappointed that the view was obstructed by numerous trees and houses. luckily i found an old house that is currently being renovated. i climbed the scaffolding to get a better view... 4 or 5 storys above ground on a rather shaky surface probably isn't the best place to take (long exposure) pictures... fortuntately it was dark, so the height didn't bother me much. still i had to move very cautiously.

anyway, i hope you like the result of this "adventure"...

3 photos stitched together manually
very slight curves correction

p.s. i'll submit a print version upon request, but know that due to dA's aspect ratio restrictions its border would have to be very large.

thanks for commenting, Mike!

are you coming to Switzerland in general or Zurich in particular?

A few friends and I are doing a little tour of the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland this summer, and we've planned to stay two nights in Zurich. Depending on what we dig up in travel books or hear from locals, we might spend one of those days visiting another part of the country. Any advice on what we should check out during a short stay would be terrific Again, thanks for the excellent piece!

it depends... if you like landscapes then i'd say visit the Alps... if you like to party stay in Zurich...

you could ask my friends what they think, too (see signature below).

OK, I am a total sucker for night city photography. But this is more to me than that. Not only because it is pretty gorgeous as photograph, but because it is making me sooooo homesick!

When I was young - I used to be pretty. Kidding.... - I used to live on the Ü etliberg for a year and had a pretty good view of Züri at night. Not quite like this, of course, but still. And to see this now really makes me want to go back and visit. Soon.

Thanks.

i'm glad to have stirred memories...

whenever you come back to switzerland, i'm sure your bro will be happy to see you, as well (i seem to remember reading somewhere that you're *g3ri s sis').

anyway, thank for viewing and commenting!

Well, not really *g3ri 's sister. He just calls me that someitmes. More like his mom, anyway !

Be sure I will be checking into your gallery lots. I am not adding any more people to my list as I'd rather comment when I have the time and mind for it than being swamped by 100 deviation daily and have people upset because I watch and may not comment... you know?

Anyway: there are a couple of things in your gallery I really enjoy and of course the ZΓΌri shots.... love those!

i see...

and yes, i can understand your decision. i've got too many people on my watchlist, but have a hard time removing any, because i like what they do. so far i at least have a look at everything, but only comment if i think it's really worth it...

if you like you could still add me to your devwatch, i promise i won't get mad if you don't comment. i'd be all the more happy if you do.

have you been to my friend's galleries? you should find more zΓΌri shots in the galleries of *fritsch , *creatyves and * raumzeit

thank you very much, have a good one!

Vile Dank.

GOod, good. Just gives me the yellow-headache my man. Too much yellow everywhere...it's kinda boring. But, nice shot, your stitching is improving I think.
Keep it up and keep us posted.

Really awsome. The yellow light color really gives this picture a gritty feel. The only thing I don't like about it is the tower on the left and side. But maybe that helps.

wow I really like this shot.
especially the aura around the city and the fact that it never quite fades to black even at the very edge.

Is that some kind of a tower blocking the view?
Why didn't you go up there instead
This pic reminds me of Los Angeles.
Nice stitching job.

I'm trying to think of what it would be like without that haze over the city. Unavoidable, but what if, eh?

Good job. Do more of these.

I bet that crane in the middle otf the photo would bw a good point of view!!! I did such climbs in the daytime... sitting on the top of such a giant crane and feeling the wind flowing around you (and under you!) defines photography as an extreme sport!!!

Of course at night time it's better to have no wind at all.
1- because you can't see well what are you climbing on
2- because the movement of the crane will ruin the long exposure...

good image Boli !
