sorry about the title, my imagination has left me...
a long exposure of a small lake near Zürich, named "Katzensee".

as i adjusted levels separately for each channel, i put this in DD.

since I am a student of this , Your commenting with phoenix has totally enlightened me to what I'm supposed to be doing now. I have so much practice with this sort of stuff, with no traing, and now my first digcam is garb now. I had a cybershot too, I loved it for three years daily, I wore the paint off, hmmmm, what should I get?

yes, shutter speed was 30 seconds. the noise became more visible during my levels adjustment (which i did to get these colors). i tried to do something against it, but the top is still noisy...

if you convert the image into 16 bit then adjust the level and take it back to 8-bit, its much smoother, so that could be why you got crazy ass noise.

One thing I would say about the cropping is that the stray branches on the right hand side of the picture distract your eyes a little from the nice reflection..

yeah, i agree on the branches, but i couldn't just crop away so much of the light with 'em... and photoshopping them away is beyond my what-i-do limit (i'd have to file the pic unter manipulation, which i don't like).

The long exposure does make the image sort of pixelated at the top, but the sky and reflection are quite beautiful.

as to your question: this was the first session i used my newly aquired Sony Cybershot F717 (second hand from * fritsch , who now has a Nikon D70), which is a minor upgrade to my former Sony Cybershot F707.

Ah yes.
I have a Cybershot, too. But mine is just a "baby" compared to yours. I am saving up a newer and better one. 
I am dying for a Cybershot 828. It's the new camera that Sony is putting out. It's amazing. It has four colors instead of RGB, it has Emerald. And lots of other great stuff on it.
Anyway. One day I'll be up in your "league"
