Description A place of remembrance; a trigger to recall events an eternity ago. Children
dancing in the mushy leaves under the trees, chasing them, trying to catch up
with them as the breeze whirls them up in the air and sets them down again.
They never caught any; the wind was just too clever and quick for them.
Beautiful, he thought. The sun's oxydated light flooding, reanimating the pale
spring evening. The sermon of angels, blown aloud on a thousand golden
trumpets, from here to infinity.

A lonesome man on an old bench in the park with his thin white hair waving in
the winter wind. A short butt of a handrolled cigarette hung from his left lip
corner and curled up as the man smiled. The bench, probably still a little
younger than the man, partially shed itself of its painted pale-olive skin over
the years.

It started to rain - as the minutes passed, the drops grew bigger and heavier,
gently touching down from the heavens. He just sat there for a while, inhaling
the serenity and peace deeply whilst the rain beat as drums on his coat. It was
twilight now, and the children had all run off to catch supper at home. With
shaking hands the man took off his glasses to wipe the drops from them before
they would freeze onto the steel rims. Squinting his eyes, making the wrinkles
in his weathered skin considerably deeper, he tried to make out the figure
walking towards him from the distance.

I saw him sitting there; cold and alone. I walked to him and sat down next to
him. Bewildered he stared into the darkness creeping in overhead. In silence we
looked at eachother and nodded. We both understood what we meant to say. No
words shall stain this moment.

The colors here are amazing. They make my eyes widen to the brim of my sockets, trying soak in the values. The sky is my favorite part. All the silhouettes provide intricate detail to move me through the image. The text is a nice addition and the leaves... the leaves are gorgeous.

I very much like the composition of this photograph. It's a great scene, especially the way that tree is stretching over the figure seated on the bench. The only critique I'd have of this shot is I wish the grass was a little bit lighter, because then the figure on the bench would stand out a little more. But that's just an opinion, and certainly I still think this is a very nice image. Well done

A magical sense of loneliness ..a beautiful solitude that seemed to make the universe breath even more beautifully for that one moment when the clocks stopped and the world forgot to turn.

I love the expanse of space echoing out in front of the eye with the interesting texture of leaves yet with their shape and colouring one could be forgiven for mistaking them as a littering of star parts broken like ever sentiment never shared and every dream that had ever been lost. I love the way that when leaves are fallen they’re considered dead and yet the ground near glows with a strange warmth amongst the emptiness.

I’m drawn by the colouring of the sky, as if soaked in liquid gold, so smooth and flawless….lacking the intricacies of complexity holding only the simplicity of beauty. I’m drawn to the way it reflects upon the ground gifting light and warmth as if the sky was split open and spilt…a sense of life to the calm….a deathly stillness and yet it’s embracing rather then scarring.

The capture of trees seem so perfect in their lack lustre solidity, so brave and fragile, so dark and sturdy with their aged fingers stroking the serenity as if to pick holes in it’s very canvas. I love the way they merely silhouette the outskirts enclosing this one perfect moment, blocking it from intrusion….and preventing it from escaping for just a moment longer.

The positioning of the bench is simply beautiful, with the figure another mere silhouette so vital and yet so understated, perhaps the only indication that something will make it through this moment…that something will be witness to immortalise it. The shadows anonyminity adds to the contemplative feel of this piece…. Filling the piece with meaning.

I think the positioning of the figure and bench is also intrinsic to the sense of loneliness, the fact it is so far positioned to the left rather then centered leads to a sense of remoteness, of detachment and solitude and yet it’s so far from the usual wretched fearing isolation. It’s almost a welcomed pause in time, a moment for relection and contemplation to drink the serenity.

..and some times a man is thought to be cold…when he is only lonely.

Great composition a luxurious feast in colour that adds a sentience to this still place. Tone, lighting and framing all equally excellent.

Thought provoking and pleasure to stare into…

I think I've currently aquired such thing's worthy of contemplation at such a beautiful location too, this picture is very awsome. The whole thing is set up well.
