sadly, Sir Handel has been put on the back burner for a bit until I can figure out how to put his cylinders and brakes in the right places. Until then I'm agonna be working on Henry's Mk2 form. Thanks to Camscott and sixbluewheels for giving me a decent set of plans.Does anyone know where I can find a blueprint for Duke please?

Not bad, man. Though one think to keep in mind with Henry Mk-II is that his topfeed is more up-front, an Ivatt modification if I recall. Most surviving Black 5's lack this, all except one.
I've also noticed that at least one Black 5 in the past had splashers, like post Season 1 Black 5 Henry (though this one had a Caprotti valve gear and didn't look all that good). But I digress, since all other Black 5's lack splashers anyway.

There were several of the Black 5's modified in the Later years of BR with Caprotti valve gear, all done at Horwich works in Bolton of course, they were brilliant for modifications and repairs. I think that one of the main reasons they didn't continue the design was because of the splashers, causing problems with maintenance, that was one of Horwich works last bangs unfortunatly. Sad days...
whats the one preserved 5 with the Ivatt topfeed?

I dont have a clue why, but 45212 springs to mind as one of the less modified black 5's. only other one I can think of is 44767 which had many modifications, including the stephenson link valve gear.
