I felt like doing something totally heart wrenching and sad and stuff with giant Hiccup, because I just freakin' can... :/ Don't judge me...This is what happens when you listen to the end credits of the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack for hours... -__-; -->[link] I was feeling a bit down, so I wanted to draw someone else down instead of me. For some reason, it really makes me feel better... So do giants... :/ I think I have some weird complex that was superimposed in me as a child by some psychological disruption of mental scarring to think that someone drastically different in physical appearance and outcast from society, who could easily destroy their oppressors but chooses not too, such as a giant, would make a great best friend... I dunno... Ever since I was little I thought that way... I'm just kind of jacked up, as I've come to realize over the years... Oh, well... Just thought I'd confess that in this currently confused state of mind... :/ I'll get over it, so don't worry about it, guys... I guess this would one of my few "vent" drawings that I put up...
It was HTTYD, so I thought, why not put it up?... heh heh Oh, man,... I feel embarrassed for saying that crap now... 
I might color this...

I always think that giants would be awesome best friends, too, mainly because of Roald Dahl's "The BFG". If you haven't read it, BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant.
This, like all your other stuff, is awesome. And the bottom picture made me also want to draw one of my character-couples with one as a giant and one not. >_<

He'd never thought of her as delicate before. There was nothing fragile about her slim, yet sinewy arms, or the flat callouses on her battle-worn palms and fingers. He used to love holding those hands between his own and close his eyes, memorizing every inch by touch alone, all warmth and rough skin and strength.
She places one of those same hands on him now, lays it on his arm with featherlight pressure, but he knows it's not that she's trying to be gentle because gentle isn't in Astrid's vocabulary. It could just as well as been a leaf brushing his skin for all its size now and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
That's what frightens him the most.
It terrifies him that all those remembered textures would remain just that; remembrances of a time long past. Her strong, able hand is no bigger than the pad of his finger, too small to hold between his over-sized palms and feel her reassuring heartbeat pulsing just beneath the gossamer thin skin. She has to tilt her head back just to look at him, an action that had once seemed endearing to him when he first realized that he was taller than her all that time ago. Now, it only makes a cold, heavy weight settle in the pit of his stomach.
Astrid pulls herself up on tiptoe at the same time Hiccup crouches down to meet her halfway. He breathes soft and shallow through his nose, but even that is enough to make her thick blond hair sway and tremble. He holds it in instead and leans closer, close enough to touch but too scared to touch her first. It's an alien thought, to think that a wimp like him could hurt someone like her so easily, and she bridges the gap for him just like she always has. She presses a butterfly kiss to his lower lip and nuzzles against the tip of his nose in a time-old ritual, a last desperate grasp at some sense of normalcy in their skewed situation.
She's too small to even see this close, just a fuzzy blur between his eyes. Hiccup closes them in frustration and tries not to cry.
"I love you," she says softly. He thinks that she might have just said normally and it just sounds like a whisper to him, but with his eyes closed he can pretend that she's sitting close to him, their foreheads and noses pressed together, whispering sweet words at night that she has always been too proud to say at any other time.

Very sweet sketches. Sounds like it's going to be an interesting story. I can totally relate to creating something out of bad emotions. Very cathartic.

It's kinda hard to narrow down where G/t thoughts come from. The most obvious thing would be movies, tv shows, and books a person watched/read as a child, like Gulliver's Travels, and other stuff my brain isn't reminding me of right now. But others have seen/read that kind of thing, and don't have them.
I think they might also come from some event, or chain of events happening in a person's life, to make them believe they need to protect someone, or be protected. And, well, G/t makes protection pretty easy. If you have a giant friend, it's not likely that other people are gonna mess with you :u
Maybe another thing could be to make a person think people who look dangerous, or have the potential to be dangerous, actually aren't. Kind of a don't judge-a-book-by-its-cover sort of thing. Maybe that comes from the person being judged by their looks, so they don't want to do the same to another person.
I love how you can put so much emotion into your work. It's very strong, and not to mention that it's very nicely drawn as well.
