Description

A monster, a monster,
I’ve turned into a monster,
A monster, a monster,
And it keeps getting stronger.

So this was when Spring Man ended up dropping out of the League after his mutation…. Was something I talked about a while back of when he just had the 4 arms to start and he still was allowed to fight in the League (bc apparently they have very loose rules as to what and who they allow I guess!).

Having 4 arms and the new height was quite an adjustment but he didn’t really didn’t account for how strong he’d end up getting… Things were started to progress already at this point gradually where he only had gotten bigger, height and muscle-wise. It started becoming concerning but he still thought maybe he could still get by; they do have other powerful competitors in the League after all.

He was already hesitant about his strength but Mechanica in the suit was considered a heavyweight. Maybe he wouldn’t have to pull his punches so much?… Then the living nightmare happened and he couldn’t be filled with more regret. It was a traumatizing event for everyone, and on live tv during a match no less…

So after this event, even if he was still allowed to continue fighting (the others would still want him to but they all knew the inevitable outcome), he regrettably dropped out by his own choice. He didn’t want to risk hurting anyone else so badly by not knowing his own strength, which only seemed to be getting worse.
He still kind of stuck around in public for a while even after tho becoming more and more reclusive… Eventually his mutation only progressed more into growing the 3rd set of arms as well and he was forced into seclusion staying in the labs. He dropped off the map for quite a while… Some of the others not even quite sure what had happened to him exactly and didn’t even see his latest mutation till much later.

As for the comic itself, I had been wanting to do a sequence type thing with some of the story to it for a while now, so I’m glad I finally got around to doing some of that. I could have been more in betweens (just wanted to get it finished fff) and probably more dialogue, but I figured I’d just leave it to visuals more. I ended up doing a total 180 in that stream from doing my dumb sexy pizza comic to this lol…

While i love this headcanon you have, i do think that it wouldn't be his or Mechanicas fault, but rather the Arms league themselves for not either; Checking Springmans strength before a battle, or checking Mechanicas suit to be up to snuff for an arms match
I mean, surely his strength would be comparable to some of the more brutal stuff an Arms competition would bring, such as a fire bomb, Hedlok rush, etc.
But the Arms league has been reluctant to disqualify something that would be blatant cheating, such as Bytes teammate Barq, or Dr. Coyle literally just giving herself more arms

When I first read this, I shivered at the emotional charge that this comic had. Springman's sense of horror and shame, Mechanica's vulnerability and helplessness are really driven home by their expressions. I'm really impressed, great work~

You're welcome! I've seen a lot of your AU stuff over the years, and while I haven't often commented directly I'm impressed with how you take the original concept and really run with it

I already read the comic on Tumblr. It is not all fun and games when you have mutation... but considering the Hedlok's functions, and Byte and Barq... stuff couldn't be more 'unfair'. I understand even Nintendo thinks outside the box to make stuff more interesting, yet for some that are close-minded still may not get it.

Tbh a character with mutiple arms sounds pretty beast for this game. I feel like he'd have a monk like feel to him. Kind of like Zenyatta from overwatch.

I'd personally love to see more mutant type Arm bearers in the game. It'd be really interesting. Idk if Hedlok rly counts since he's just a head with 4 arms that latches onto others and then has 6.... Going up against him is terrible. Going against 4 would probably be almost as bad, but then they do have a characters that technically has 3? Byte & Barq has the one character with 2 arms and the dog has 1... I guess you don't really control the dog but it's still not very fair ffff

Well, since Byte & Barq are technically a duo, I don't think they count either. The character would need to have body like most of the other characters and be able to use another set of arms.
