AAAANYWAY... This is part of my alt history universe. Where it's the Germans, the Americans, the British, Italians, Japanese, French, ETC... against the Soviet Union, who has taken over most of Asia and North Africa. In this alt history, it's females in the military instead of males. This also means that ROMMEL is also a female etc...

ANYWAYS... This is a Panzer Kommandant in Rommel's Afrika Korps. The Allied powers (this includes Germany, Italy, Japan, the US, Great Britain, etc...) are fighting the Soviets for control of N Africa's vast oil reserve, hoping to capture the fuel for themselves, and to keep it out of Communist hands.

The main players in the desert combat are Germany, the US, Britain,and Italy on the Allied side. And of course the Soviets and their affiliates on the Communist side.

The Panzer kommandant shown here (probably the commander of a Panzer III) was a member of the 21st Panzer division. This was taken shortly after she and her crew arrived from Germany along with many other reinforcements to join up with the 21st. Many of the tanks from her specific unit were destroyed later that month in an attempt to push the Russians out of an important town on the coast.

This all probably sounds very confusing to you... sorry.
