If I wanted to I might but I got other projects I need to start as well as finish so that has to go on the back burner for now.

OJT--On-the-Job Training. That's been occupying alot of time lately. I got the urge to do some creative stuff but haven't had the time or desire lately, I barely got time to check my E-mail let alone messages here.

I know right? So many people on here--some talented and others not so much. Still I always make an effort to come here and check my messages as well as upload some Art, which reminds me I got some more stuff I drew that I need to post here that I did months ago.

God if I didn't know any better I swore we work for the same Company. My Job is trying to get more People to work on the Weekends for Unlimited OT. I'm not giving up my Sundays for them! I already gotta work on Fridays and Saturdays and it's a DISASTER.

boot-cheese-3000 In reply to Aussie-Blonde [2016-09-19 14:40:23 +0000 UTC]
NOPE! They don't even pay us OT for working Holidays these Days and that's been happening the past several years now. More and more companies are stopping that shit to screw the Employees just so they can save $$$$. Don't forget this is the same Nation that I live in that denies Women Maternal Leave--the ONLY Nation to prevent that. Sounds to me like a Fascist State.

oh I see... thats no good, we do get paid extra here , but even more on public holidays, its so wrong, its 50 a hr...... they trying to change the law and stop it, its very hard on small business to pay out this sort of money, no wonder they go bank rupt.

I found out my Job did pay for Holiday OT for working Labor Day a few weeks ago so I'm happy about that. That's a rarity for a Company to do that still.

Jeez how does the Voting System work out there? Can ANYBODY do something like have petitions signed to get the Govt to look at it, like these sites that are On-Line Petition hubs such as iPetition or Change.org?

Many welcomes, my Brother. Lots of computer repairs. I got them caught up so now I am working on outfitting my studio. I have a new Dell PRecision workstation with eight cores and 16 threads. It is a beast. How are things going for you?

I have ownership of six computers these days. Three of them are really nice Dell boxes of various vintage and scope. I service several others and am on call as a workstation specialist at the shop. My two largest local machines are currently online, while the four smaller ones are powered down and stashed inside their travel cases ready for the next remote onsite gig.
The two I have online are Spanky, the quad core Xeon, and my newest and largest workstation, a Dell Precision T3600 octa core (!) Xeon. Spanky has 8 threas. Mister T has 16(!!) Spanky has 32GB of DDR3. Mister T has "only" 16GB. Both computers have NVidia GPUs and boot off SSDs, although they still store files on standard WD Blue HDDs. Spanky has two 1TB units. Mister T has only one 1TB HDD. Both are running Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 and Waterfox with extensions.
I look forward to seeing all that new content. The new lappie is about to get a mission. Portable workstation. Yep. I am definitely eyes akimbo on the wait. Beyond the traditional media, the digital material should prove to be major fun, as long as the machine holds up. Get an external enclosed USB storage drive for that stuff. Laptop internal data storage media cannot be trusted. USB key fobs are getting more capricious and speedy, but the tag is still a wallet demon for the really big ones.
Olde Miss is not that far away, though I assume you are in the southern part of the state. As the crow flies, you are about 700 miles from GSMNP, possibly more the further south you are. Ain't gonna be long before my mountains call you up here for a visit. You keep getting closer all the time.

I live about 24 miles from the north boundary of GSMNP. I can see the mountains from the high places in Maryville and Alcoa, smack dab in the center of Blount County, Tennessee. If you go further east, you wind up in North Carolina on the way to Ashville.
Ah. You moved to Hurricane Alley. Be safe, man. Abide all warnings. Other than that, you are in paradise, so to speak. Yep, about eight hundred miles as the condor flies. Mississippi is a state with a rich heritage but little money. I had the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of her back in the mid '90's as I juked my way to Florida. It was a lot of fun, but I got to see the wide spread poverty first hand...
About the work on digital machines, I spent about four months helping out a local shop. After I built for them more machines than could be sold in a timely manner, I stepped back to work on my own tools. Spanky was a year in design and about six months in the build, most of that time spent saving enough bread to purchase the parts.
While undertaking that mission, a hunt for bargains turned up the parts I needed for other machines on the LAN. After a half year this year, all are happy, fast, efficient workstations able to do more duty than I will ever be able to send their way. Now all I need to do is integrate them into a functional workflow wherein major production can take place.
