Description
Yes, i case you hadn't recognized him (or if you were born in the late 90s),this is Edgar the Bug from the classic SF comedy Men in Black.
MiB was one of my favorite SF movies when i was a kid, and as the second sequel is being released in theaters all around the world i realize just how special that first movie was.
I could start a rant about all the things that make the first MiB movie so much better than the sequels, but i think the character of Edgar alone proves my point.
This giant insect from space squeezed up inside a less than elegant Edgar suit was probably the best idea for an alien movie since the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. That thing was threatening, intelligent, violent, lethal, repulsive and terribly visually disturbing, the perfect combination between a zombie, an alien and a giant bug.
Screw The Invaders, The Puppet Masters and all that mambo-jambo: This is the kind of alien i was afraid to find living among us while growing up.
Now, about the picture itself, i drew most of the actual bug from memory, therefor there may be one or two details i got wrong. Mostly i regret not drawing the full body.
But i really think i nailed the Edgar Suit version

I know I saw MIB3, but for the life of me I can't remember anything about it.

ah well. I could give it a go in a similar style, if that's ok! I really love the extremely dark shading. it reminds me of Mike Mignola's art. I also love how scaly and reptilian he looks for a bug monster

MIB is my all time favorite movie and this is one of my favorite villains.Β He was scary and threatening, but would always make me crack up at his spastic movements!Β I now also appreciate the fact that you really do see the Edgar suit rot and deteriorate throughout the film.Β Never caught that as a kid.

I just finished watching the MIB animated series, and I must say the Bug episodes were my favourites.

hey, do you think you could give me the numbers and seasons of these episodes ? I want to watch them again on streaming, but I don't have time to watch the entire series and I can't figure out for sure which they are from the titles.

Take No Prisoners Syndrome (S1E13), Big Bad Bug Syndrome (S1E5), Mine, Mine, Mine Syndrome (S3E6), and "J" is for James Syndrome (S3E14) are the episodes with Bugs in them.

I loved this movie. The actor they got played the part of giant bug inside rotting human skin perfectly.

Vincent D'Onofrio portrayed Edgar, as well as voiced the Bug I think. He's a good actor.

Pity, because the thrid movie was pretty good. Sure, it's no MIB I but it's forth of watching. It solves a pit of background stories and 1950-new york with aliens among them is working. I say watch it.
