"I'm Sol'ar Eclipse, nice to meet you." "Solan, you're never going to give up on that old misprint, are you?" "Never." - Solan and Juno Eclipse.

Commander Solan Eclipse is the youngest of the Eclipse Siblings of the affluent Eclipse Family of Corulag. Knowing full well that he would never inherit much of anything of his family's wealth or power, he decided to focus on his own interests and enlisted in the Imperial Military, testing into the elite pilot academy. Solan's family history as a member of the Eclipse family along with his own inate piloting skills allowed him to advance quickly, not nearly as fast as his older sister, Juno, but still at an impressive enough rate. Upon enlistment though, the Empire accidently messed up his identification card, misprinting it with the name "Sol'ar Eclipse" instead of Solan. It would take roughly four years for the Empire to finally rectify the issue but by that point Solan had earned the nickname and had accepted it, even introducing himself as such on occasion in an act of subtle flippancy.

By 2 BBY, Solan was among some of the best pilots in the Empire and had been assigned to the 128th Tie Interceptor Squadron under Lieutenant Kasan Moor. Just prior to the signing of the Corellian Treaty, Solan had been tapped by Grand Admiral Thrawn to be one of the test pilots for the experimental TIE Defender. However, not long after the signing of the treaty by the Rebellion, word had spread through the Imperial Commands that Juno Eclipse had been branded a traitor to the Empire. By his mere relation to Juno, Solan was reassigned to several crap assignments and suffered indignation from his fellow Imperials. These crap assignments included shuttle duties and courier runs. Whenever it was confirmed that Juno had led a successful attack on the Empire, he'd get assigned to scrubbing the refreshers, sometimes twice in one day.

Solan began to resent the Empire for this treatment, especially as he began to see their outright cruelty to others. When he heard about Alderaan being destroyed and how the Rebellion had destroyed the Death Star in retaliation, he was quietly proud of his sister. He began entertaining thoughts of defection but wasn't sure how to proceed. In a case of historic bad luck, Solan was on board a light cruiser as the Rebels boarded it on a mission to steal it's supplies. Solan tried to actually help the Rebels but ended up getting shot with a stun blast by the boarding Rebels and was left onboard when they finally fled, their mission retreated.

By the Battle of Hoth, Solan had learned that the Empire had murdered his parents who had become Rebel Sympathizers. His older brother, Baron Tamrien Eclipse had personally overseen the execution which infuriated Solan but he didn't dare act out. Instead he began looking for a way to contact the Rebellion and defect. He would get his chance the following year.

Immediately prior to the Battle of Endor, Solan had been relegated to routine shuttle duty between the Forest Moon of Endor and the Second Death Star. He was on the moon's surface when an Imperial Officer boarded and ordered him to take him to the Death Star. During the flight, the officer started speaking freely with him and was surprised when the Officer encouraged him to defect. The officer then revealed himself as none other than Galen Marek, the leader of the Rebellion. At that point, Solan considered himself a Rebel and agreed to hold the shuttle on the Death Star as a means of escape for the Rebel Leader if necessary. He managed to evade Imperial Deck Officers as the Battle of Endor began and raged around him and even had to murder one of the NCOs that attempted to order his shuttle clear. An unconscious Galen would then be brought to the shuttle by Luke Skywalker and a reformed Anakin Skywalker just as the Death Star started to explode, the four escaping the doomed space station just in time.

After the battle, Solan was reunited with his sister and formally joined the Rebellion. Solan's skill warranted induction to Rogue Squadron and Solan personally flew an X-Wing in both the Liberation of Coruscant and the Battle of Jakku the following year. After Jakku, Solan met up with several defecting Imperial Pilots and together they formed Eclipse Squadron, the squadron flying black colored X-Wings and A-Wings with white Republic Starbirds to take the fight to the remains of the Empire. Solan and Eclipse Squadron are still among the New Republic's elite squadrons, even into the Shadow Wars although due to his age, Solan has been contemplating handing the role of Eclipse Leader over to his second-in-command, Poe Dameron, who he views as being an extremely talented pilot and worthy of the role.

Solan is usually a likeable guy but is known to be stern when needed. Being from Corulag he typically speaks in a High Coruscanti accent. Solan has not had much success in finding a wife though, mostly because of his dedication to serving the New Republic. His last known relationship was with Va Nessa, a Twi'lek pop singer who similarly served in the Rebellion. However both have separately confirmed that their relationship had ended albeit on amicable terms and that Va Nessa at least was open to a second try. His familial relationships are fairly good too. He's closest to Juno, the two sending messages back and forth when possible. He is similarly respectful towards his brother-in-law Galen and equally so to his nephew Kento. Likewise he's on good terms with his niece and his ex-sister-in-law. His older brother, Tamrien, on the other hand has been disowned by virtually the entirety of the Eclipse family for his near fanatical support for Imperial Ideology and even the Tarkin Doctrine.

Yep. I had an image for him along with a bio but i deleted it when i started to cancel the Shadow Wars series. The image (along with the bio) was lost when the hard drive it was on died. The data could be recovered but would cost upwards of around $1,000.00 to recover.

Also, is that a Mass Effect System's Alliance logo with the Rebel Alliance Starbird i see in your avatar?
