This is one of my ships from my Star Wars Fanfiction Series: Star Wars: The Shadow Wars. The series is currently between "Seasons."

Note: The information below is from my own universe which is a blend of old and new canon and it not to be considered canon in any other universe but mine. I should also mention that this ship is canon (at least Legacy Canon) but its history is significantly different as far as my universe is concerned.

"Are you sure we should keep it? The resources we could get from scrapping it alone would help us to build at least three MC80s with enough leftover to build a thousand X-Wings. Why use this symbol of tyranny?" "And how long would it take us to get those ships prepared? We need every edge we can right now, with the General in retirement. We know the lethality of these ships, and how great a coup is it to turn this sword of evil into a shield of good? The Lusankya's existence was known only by a sparse few but it's exact location was unknown to all but only the highest levels of the Empire. The Lusankya was the flagship of Imperial Intelligence Director Ysanne Isard and was expertly hidden beneath the cityscape of Coruscant's surface. It remained hidden beneath Coruscant's cityscape up until the Battle of Coruscant approximately one year after the Battle of Endor. Not even the redeemed Anakin Skywalker knew of the ship's existence. Most assumed that the power signatures coming from beneath the surface were from a planetary shield generator or a simple power generator for a large portion of the city.

When the Liberation of Coruscant began in 5 ABY, Galen Marek, using Battle Meditation, sensed something was amiss, sensing a large number of tortured souls coming from the area beneath the city where the "power generator" was located. Anakin Skywalker, who had confined himself to the brigs of Home One out of shame for his past actions as Vader, similarly sensed this and subtly encouraged Marek to investigate. Galen directed Rebel Forces to investigate the "power generator" but their approach didn't go unnoticed by Isard who realized that the Rebels' search patterns would inevitably discover the Lusankya, she opted to launch the Super Star Destroyer, using its firepower to inflict severe casualties on the Rebel forces. Although some assumed that she intended to engage the Rebel Fleet in battle in orbit, Isard's tactical and analytical mind instead saw an opportunity to seize power over what remained of the Empire and issue a truly crushing defeat to the Rebellion later on and fled Coruscant, taking the Lusankya with her.

Isard brought the Lusankya to Jakku where she and Warlord Zsinj began rallying a massive Imperial fleet in preparation to retake Coruscant. It was aboard the Lusankya that "Darth Vader" arrived with his Death Squadron and 501st Legion to join the efforts. Isard welcomed "Vader" aboard and allowed his Legion stormtroopers to help crew the Super Star Destroyer. However the Rebels struck the Imperials first, surprising them at Jakku was an adhoc fleet of warships. During the battle, the Lusankya was boarded by Rebel strike teams led by Leia Organa. However Leia was captured and brought to the bridge where Isard and Anakin stood waiting. Just as Isard was about to execute Leia in a galactically holovized act, Anakin Skywalker revealed himself and executed Isard instead, ordering the Imperials to stand down and surrender, declaring the Empire finished. The Stormtroopers on the Lusankya turned on the Imperial Loyalists and forced their surrender, making the Lusankya the largest prize of the battle. Zsinj had command of the Ravager, another Executor-Class but the Ravager was attacked and sent crashing into Jakku's surface where Zsinj was confirmed killed, the Ravager now resting upside down and slowly being consumed by the desert sands of Jakku and the scavengers that've come to eek out a living.

After the Lusankya was captured, there was some debate over whether or not to continue using it within the New Republic as it was a symbol of Imperial Tyranny. However Admiral Ackbar and several other high ranking fleet officers vetoed the idea of scrapping the Lusankya, recognizing its general effectiveness and how symbolic it's capture by the New Republic could be. In the end the Lusankya was made the flagship of the New Republic's First Fleet where she has served faithfully ever since, even into the Shadow Wars beginning in 28 ABY.

As of 28 ABY, the Lusankya is believed to be the last surviving Executor-Class Star Dreadnought left still flying and is the only SSD the New Republic controls as they've since focused on developing the larger Viscount Starships from the Mon Calamari instead of Executor-Class vessels. The Lusankya is one of only two Republic controlled Star Destroyers equipped with one of Darth Vader's old meditation chambers, the other being the Tatooine Avenger which serves as Anakin Skywalker's flagship. The image above is of the Lusankya shortly after her capture by the Republic in 5 ABY. Presently her hull is adorned with the Republic Starbird on both aft corners.
