Description

Hello there. You may not know me, or have never thought we have ever met, but believe me, we have. I have seen you walk underneath my home many times before. Perhaps to get into the shade, maybe to even wait for someone. Whatever the reason, I could care less. I have a bone with pick with you, ever since you savagely ripped me from my home and brethren! My feelings for you have grown rather cold towards you since then, as I've waited in that basket, anticipating the moment when one of your own kindred picked me up to write down what I had to say for some idiot project you assigned them.

Hmmm, you're probably still trying to figure out what I am. What I wouldn't give to see your face right now. No matter. Anyways, let me explain myself a little bit so that you have an inkling of an idea as to what I am. Perhaps afterward you'll have a more thorough grasp and a better understanding. Now, just like anything in the world, I had to have some sort of beginning. I remember it like it was yesterday, nestled all cozy like up within my leafy home. All my brothers and sisters were with me, our rounded buds facing the sun. Like any child, we too yearned for sustenance. We rejoiced when the rain came down, dripping off the hallway of branches and green leaves of our roofs.

We sunbathed when the clouds parted ways, allowing the warm golden rays to help us grow, changing our young shells from green to soft golds and warm browns. Now, just like any average creature, we had our share of unfriendly neighbors. Or, to put it bluntly, cold hearted, fiendish enemies. What with their busy tails and their, sharp claws and relentless gnawing as my fellow family members screamed with agonizing pain (as silent as it was to the rest of the world).

I digress. I'm not here to talk about them, I'm here to speak about myself, and for myself. Now, most parts of my life might not be of interest to you, so I'll skip past all the rest of my life. By now, I'm hoping you have figured out what I am. If not, then by George I dare you to try and pick me up once more. For if you do, may my thorny cap and broken stem stab you painfully. Just as painfully as I was ripped from my home! Have at you, fiend, guess what I am if you can!
