Name: Birdkit, Birdpaw , Birdcatcher
Age: 42 moons (3.5 years)
Gender: Female
Breed: Norwegian Forest Cat/ Ragdoll
Appearance:
|Overall| Birdcatcher is a pretty she-cat, though her lanky legs make her much taller than most other she-cats. That and the fact that she’s partially the Norwegian Forest Cat, a large breed. Her thick pelt transitions from pale silvery grey to a darker gray, tinged with violet in the sun, and flecked through with even darker spots. These spots concentrate around her eyes and cheeks, like freckles.

|Body- Type| Birdcatcher is always slender, seemingly no matter how much she may eat – not to say that she’s a glutton. (Some say it's because she's so nervous at times that she just burns off any weight she could possiblt gain) Under all that fluff is muscle, lean and powerful. She’s tall, and slightly awkward, seeing as her legs at times seem too long for the rest of her body. She lost half of her tail to a large, sharp-toothed fish while swimming as an apprentice but her fluffiness overtook that—now her tail is practically ¼ actual tail, and ¾ fur.

|Eyes| Birdcatcher’s eyes are unusual, to say the least. A deep reddish purple, they’re striking, and were she less timid, she could probably use them to send a chill through those she argues with. Alas, that is not to be. (Not that she argues much anyway)

||Coat|| Her coat is really just a blend of different shades of the same color. Even her ‘white’ areas aren’t really white—they’re a pale silvery color. In some light, the darker flecks and patches shine almost purple—in the same way that a true black on some animals can reflect blue or green light. Thick and warm, it can drag her down a bit when swimming, but she has learned to adapt how she swims to be able to cope with that slight setback.

|Whimsical|-- Birdcatcher is prone to daydreams and ‘flights of fancy’ when not performing duties for the clan. She likes to make up stories about things in her head, and she’ll tell these fanciful tales if asked—theres always a moral in the end, something that is important to know in life. Like stories of the sea, of the sand and sky. The sun and moon, the stars—how non can truly be without the other, to keep the balance. The ebbs and flows of life. Tales of good besting evil and light pushing back the shadows. That’s just how she is. Her imagination often gets her staring into space—or another cat, and when she realized that, she’ll be all apologies and nervous mumbles.
|Uncertain|-- For all her imagination and kindness, Birdcatcher is by nature very nervous. She’s never quite sure when she should speak up for her opinion or not, and more often than not, unless she’s with a cat she knows well, she will be silent, just a presence without sound. This can be used to her advantage—such as catching troublesome kits without their knowing she is there, or sneaking up on an opponent. Soft-spoken and humble, Birdcatcher tends to deflect compliments, or outright deny them, with a Mrrow of amusement and a shake of her head.
|Creative|-- Seeing as she is always thinking about one thing or another, her imagination has aided her in innovative new ways to hunt, fish, or fight. She once heard a rogue coming, and dug herself into the sand, exploding out once the rogue was near to scare them half to death. She taught this to her apprentice, Hopflight when she was training him, and her motto has always been to think new thoughts. A favorite hobby of hers is to make traps (which she reminds her Clanmates of so THEY don’t get caught) to catch intruders or prey. Generally pitfalls in the sand covered by dune grass and made to look as natural as possible.
|Kind||Compassionate||Loyal| -- Birdcatcher is very soft-hearted, always there to help a cat in need, whether they need a shoulder to cry on, or just need a friendly smile. Her gentle nature enables her to give comfort, or companionship to mostly everyone. She’s got a strong motherly instinct, and will take care of anyone in need, whenever they may need. Always putting others before herself, she will do anything for her Clanmates and her friends. Loyal till her last breath, she’d never betray anyone who trusted her—not if her life depended on it.
History:
As far as her history goes, there isn’t much to tell, with Birdcatcher. Born as the only surviving kit of her litter, she has no family left- she was the only kit her parents had that survived to even apprenticeship. Out of three litters, she was the first to survive, and she was their final attempt at parenthood. She grew up well-loved by her family, and was stricken by their losses, which were almost simultaneous. Her father died of blackcough, and several moons later, when she just became and apprentice her mother passed on as well. Whitewhisper had taken another mate, in the abcsense of Silvertalon, due to lonliness, and given birth to one last kit. During her apprentice moons, she was slightly less happy, due to the loss of her parents, and the fact that her shyness made her an easy target to be picked on. Her mentor wasn't much aid in that account, leaving her to try to fend for herself much of the time. This may have made her stronger, but her shyness prevailed, to even now. Her warrior name was chosen for the way that as an apprentice, she would often leap very high to catch a bird off of a tree branch, and was better at hunting them then any other sort of prey. As a warrior, she was a warrior for only a short time before she was given her first apprentice. Her first apprentice was the then Hoppaw. She treated him like he was her own kit, sensing the inner lonlieness in him, and tried to be an almost motherly figure for him and was constantly building him up nd trying to train him to be the absolute best he could be. She was the one to pierce his ear for him, enabling him to wear the claw in his ear.

Hopflight
My former apprentice.. Hopflight was like a son, to me, to be honest. As a kit he was... So sweet. Eager. He is.. Arrogant, and dramatic, and brash, but under that is a heart of gold, and a wit as quick as a viper. There are many layers to Hopflight, and though we aren't as close as we once were... *sigh* I miss the relationship we once had.. I hope that we can.. Repair it, I suppose.I'm proud to have trained him, and he is forever an important cat to me. I will never give up on him.

Hawkpaw:
My current apprentice.. Hawkpaw is very sweet! He's uncertain of himself, to be sure, and he's very.. Idealistic, but that's always a good thing. I look forward to working with him more.

Birdcatcher padded through the dunes carefully, picking her way along as she woke up. It was still very early—the sun had barely begun to rise. But she couldn’t help herself, it was a restless night. Pausing at the crest of another dune, she glanced down, her paws sinking into the sand with amusement. She inhaled the sea air, eyes shutting happily. She loved the smell of the salt water, especially alone, in the early morning, to enjoy it fully.
Sliding down the dune, Birdcatcher seated herself just ahead of where the waves were lapping, dragging her paw through the sand absently, over and over again. A gull cried out overhead, before landing in the water, far out in the water. She watched it, tilting her head as she lost herself in her head, as she was like to do when alone like this.
A story, today. How the sun and moon chased one another in an endless dance, or perhaps a game of tag, one never quite able to catch the other? Or perhaps a story of a cat of the past, who maybe.. Befriended a gull, to learn how to ride the waves, just as easily, to enjoy the water. That one had potential.
She was startled from her thoughts, when the waves rose, now lapping at her paws, and she mrrowed in amusement, standing and retreating a few paces, only to sit and stare out again. It was a beautiful sunrise, to be sure, as the sky turned multi-colored. As though it were genuinely happy to see the sun once more. That too, could make a good story.
But it would need to be thought of later, for it was time to head back to the Clan. Perhaps she’d be out on a patrol this morning… It would be welcome, at the moment. Yawning, Birdcatcher rose once more, to lope back to the cavern that her Clan called home, eyes bright.
