.She looks a little dead behind the eyes, no? Something is off with this painting, though it was very fun to get carried away with the various patterns in the clothing and that extravagant mask. I real am a little ashamed that this one lacks the personality and unique qualities that I regard as my own style. I feel that her hand holds more personality than the whole piece. Oh well, I guess I can pass her off as some statuesque beauty, something akin to vampires or succubi that would warrant such a absence of persona.Related content

I disagree. I think her look is not emotionless, merely she is wearing another mask. Only this one does not cover her face, it covers her heart. Her face is carefully kept blank, so people do not know her and do not know her true feelings. This mask shows more of her than she would like the world to see. Her face wants you to understand her predicament, but she keeps herself guarded to save disappointment.

This is lovely, but I agree with you; it lacks character and depth. In looking over what would fix it, I think that perhaps giving her some emotion in her face - either bold, flirty or shy, instead of the distant, restrained, calculating face she has now. And maybe re-working her hair. You could possibly play up her makeup a bit, too.
I'm not sure if it's just the way you've got her head tucked down, but her neck looks a bit short in comparison to her shoulders and trapezius muscles. And that mask needs better lighting; it is closer to us than the girl's face, and should look so.
I'm really digging the purple tones, though. I think this picture could be really cool.

Oh thank you! I actually have gotten stumpt with this one, and decided to adjust the colours, blur the backdrop and upload it to see if people might add their opinions and critiques about it. Iām glad you like it!
