Description It was recently announced that the TCG website I was a news scout for, FakeCard.com, was to be shut down for good. Why? Neither of the two webmasters had the time for it anymore. Read the full story here . I'm kinda bummed about it, yeah. I've been visiting the site and have been a member of the community since Pokémon Aaah! Ver.4 (PA! had 8 versions, before it was changed to FakeCard v1). But it's not like it is the end of the world.

But, through this site and its community, many good things happened to me. First, it brought fruition to my dream of making my own realstic-looking Pokémon TCG cards (I've actually done a hand-drawn card long before I knew of PA!). I've met many friends through the forums of PA!/FC. I've learned many tips and tricks for Photoshop thanks to PA!, as well.

The birth date is of when Nick15 first added a Pokémon Aaah! section to his old site called Toasterleavens (according to the FC History, anyways). The death date is when PA!/FC was announced to be dead for good (though as I type this, the site IS still up).

The quote on the tombstone is one of the things Nick has said very often. So, I felt it was appropriate to use as an epitath. And what is in my speech bubble is yet another common phrase.

My hands came out a little weird. The look I was going for was holding my hands behind my back. Oh, well.

Finally, when most people pay tribute to the dead, they place flowers on the grave. But in this instance of a dead "Make your own cards" site, I've placed one of my fake cards on the grave (Santa Starscream, if you must know). I felt it would be kinda funny, and appropriate as well.

And so the sun sets on the legacy of one great website.

FINAL NOTE: deviantART's limitations on title characters really bugs me.

By the way, what was the title going to be without those limitations?

It would've been "RIP Pokémon Aaah!/FakeCard", but deviantART doesn't allow a lot of characters to be used for titles (in this case: é, !, and /). Buh.

And as the sun sets on the legend that is PA, a tear is shed... or... not X.x

But it is a great shame that it is dying. I worked for it also, as a blank "artist"

A touching tribute, I must say. I'm sure we all agree that fakecard.com was among the greatest Pokémon sites ever.

LONG MAY IT BE REMEMBERED!
