I think rhinos are neat because they're perissodactylids, which means they're basically giant horses (and so, theoretically, could be ridden). African rhinos are my favorite, but Javan ones are also fascinating to look at.
I once visited a small zoo whose keepers claimed was home to the world's last two Javan tigers. I saw them, but there's no way for someone like me to tell whether a tiger is from Java. I think they must have been either mistaken or lying or I must have misheard them, because Wikipedia says that the last confirmed Javan tiger disappeared in the late 1980s. It's very sad that Asia's greatest predator, which once ranged from the Anatolian peninsula (Turkey) to the Indonesian island of Bali has now become so rare.

Well, people did succeed with Przewalskiβs Horse ... Maybe it will work with rhinos.
